I stopped in today and tried the carne asada street tacos — and wow, they were amazing! The meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, the tortillas were soft and fresh, and the flavor overall was just next level. You can tell everything is made with care and quality ingredients. The staff were super friendly and my food came out fast, even though they were busy. Definitely my new go-to spot for tacos — highly recommend!

We arrived right before closing. They had no problem staking our order. We ordered several items off the menu and I can honestly say that not one item we ordered tasted off or bad. Everything was super delicious especially the veggies that topped everything. They were so fresh, I couldn’t have asked for a better Mexican meal in Idaho falls.

The birria tacos are amazing and delicious! I couldn’t find a mild salsa to have with my shredded pork street taco. The fish taco was also very good. Beans were too runny for my liking, but I loved the rice. They have many bottled sodas and drinks to choose from. I would definitely recommend this place if you want delicious tacos!

The food at this establishment was usually very good in the past. It’s was very authentic. I’ve met the owner on the several times I’ve visited and she’s very nice. However, it takes forever to receive your food. I waited 50 minutes for my to go food order today. When I inquired on the status of my order at the 45 minute mark, the woman working the cash register was very rude and condescending.
Update: The food ended up being horrible from this latest order. The carne asada plate made three of sick to our stomachs. The meat was tough and obviously the cheapest cut.
This is sad as my family enjoyed this establishment in the past but unfortunately, after this latest debacle, we won’t be back.

We ordered the birria tacos, the consome sauce, and two huraches.
I’ve heard amazing things about this place, mainly about the birria tacos. I imagined the birria tacos being tasty and gooey with cheese. I was excited to finally go.
The waiting from ordering to getting our food was 45+ minutes. Unless the food is absolutely amazing, that’s just too long of a time to wait in my opinion. The tables are much to small to sit at and the chairs are the metal wire sided chairs. They are not very comfortable to sit in, which isn’t usually a problem, unless you have to sit for 45+ minutes.
The meat in the birria tacos was amazing, they had great flavor and great texture. The consome sauce was very tasty and very hot. The birria taco shells were not warm, they were like when fried food has gone cold. This also made the shells were also very hard. The cheese that was inside the tacos, was melted at one point, but has since harden again. No gooey cheese.
I have never had huraches before, so I didn’t know what I was getting into. The meat on the huraches was good, but the huraches seemed bland overall. There are sauces to dip your food in and they were good.
If I were to go again, I would probably go at a strange time so the wait isn’t so long. I also would not get the signature birria tacos, but try a burrito instead.

I had two birria tacos, they were fantastic. The cheese was nice and gooey, the meat was well seasoned, and the shell was nice and crispy. My husband enjoyed the carne asada but it was a bit dry/overcooked. The seasoning on it was good and so were the tortillas.

It was my first time visiting Garcia’s and after eating definitely will be stoping by on a regular basis. The prices are very reasonable and full of flavor. The secret menu item, the oysters in a half were fantastic! The perfect mix of spicy, salty, and savory with a nice crunch from the onions. The service was super fast and everyone was extremely friendly.

Not bad.

I was very excited to find a spot in Eastern Idaho that serves up birria tacos. Unfortunately, I can’t say I loved them. They were good enough to satisfy the craving but not something I would go out of my way for. The birria meat was tender & fairly tasty. However, the tacos were fried in a way that made the tortillas have an almost stale-like texture. It wasn’t crispy in a good way…more like hard to bite. The consome was severely lacking in flavor. I added some lime and that made it slightly better but still not great. I also ordered asada tacos, which I probably prefer.

You know what was absolutely delicious? The whipped orange drink (found by the soft drinks). Definitely recommend.

The pricing is fairly expensive for what you get. Of course, I am very used to getting my tacos in Vegas/Southern California so I may be a bit biased

The interior was very clean and well managed. The staff was nice & efficient. I walked in on a Wednesday evening & didn’t have much of a wait.

Overall, it was a “average” experience. I’m hoping I can find something on the menu that knocks it out of the park.

I can’t believe how my recent visit here turned out! I used to frequent this place because the food was always delicious, the staff were friendly, and the service was quick. But this time, it was a complete disappointment. The lady taking my order was incredibly rude. The food came out fast because there was no wait. However, the tacos were a far cry from what I remembered – lacking in flavor and skimpy on the meat. There are plenty of superior Mexican restaurants in Idaho Falls. Needless to say, I have no intention of returning to this place.
