I went here thinking I would eat more great chicken like I got in Vegas just a day before, but that was NOT the case here. I was greeted only because there is a bell on the door that announces people entering. The place is not as spacious as Vegas and there was food by the register which I think was places on my table after I came out the restroom that I didn’t order. That salad was cabbage with mayo on it and a sprinkle of some seasoning. It didn’t look appealing nor did it taste good. I left it there for the trash. The pot stickers I got were 90% overcooked to damn near burnt. Then I got pork instead of beef like I asked for. The chicken was smaller than Vegas and I can say they were good but not as juicy. That sauce was hot but I liked it. The drink was good too. To be frank I think the last was there alone and was the cook too. She didn’t come back out to check on me as she was in the back preparing meals for the customers that came in after me. I appreciated the clean restroom but I don’t like that it’s right at the kitchen entrance.

The chicken is ok. There are so many Korean fried chicken places nowadays and compared to others, it’s just okay to me. I ordered the Original, Crispy, Soy, and Hot Spicy. Of all of the flavors, the Crispy was my favorite and the Hot Spicy my least favorite. I personally cannot stand how Koreans have been adding cinnamon (or whatever other spice that tastes like cinnamon) to their cuisine. I’m a fan of cinnamon but it just doesn’t just mix with Korean food for me and the Hot Spicy was overwhelmingly cinnamon-y for me. Other than that, the Hot Spicy lives up to their name because it is definitely spicy….like a lot. The chicken itself was juicy. The packaged pickled radish is a nice contrast to the fried foods. It is overwhelming sweet but that’s what it’s supposed to be. What I didn’t like about it was that it wasn’t as crunchy/crispy as it should have been. They also did not offer any free sauces to go along with my very expensive order. I wanted to try a variety of their flavors and they have the Banban (which means Half/Half) options on their menus but you couldn’t mix and match beyond what was on their Banban menu. Half is with sauce on the chicken and half without. I wanted to try their Original and Crispy with the Banban order but they would not allow it. I HAD to get one half with sauce. Also, the sauce HAD to be on the chicken, not on the side. If I asked for it on the side, they would charge me extra. Not really customer oriented.

We stopped by Pelicana in Artesia for a takeout order, and they nailed it. From order to pickup, it took just 20 minutes, but what stood out was the attention to detail. Orders weren’t sealed shut, keeping the chicken crispy. The radish was kept separate until the guests came to pick it up, so it stayed cool without messing with the heat of the chicken. Little things like that make a big difference.

The staff was all smiles, and by the time we got home, the chicken was still hot, crispy, and perfect. This is the kind of place that earns loyalty, not just for the food, but for the experience they create. Good food, great service—Pelicana gets it. Even my cat was impressed. We’ll definitely be back!

came here w/ friends for a quick fresh wings + yap sesh ! it was so hot today but their fried wings were so crispy and they have 2.99$ pints of draft beer going on!

super friendly and patient service, perfect place to order food and take ur time yapping with friends.

i highly recommend the wings (house sauce) with cheese powder on the side, and I LOVED THEIR CHEESE BALLS! it was so chewyyy mochi and was a lil sweet.

You know, Korean style chicken has evolved over the past decades in Korea itself and the market’s saturated with many brands more popular than Pelicana, but Peicana was one of THE original brands known for their spicy seasoned chicken (yang nyum)

I have not tried any other Pelicana locations, and I have no particular comment for their regular fried chicken, but the spicy original seasoned chicken at this particular Artesia location is VERY good with generous sauce on the bottom of the box to dip in any portions that you want more of it on. My hubby says it tastes just like what he used to have back in the days (tho he is more of a Kyo chon consumer in Korea, but here in the States this is his favorite). So I would say (for those who like ‘em of course) just get the original spicy seasoned chicken and you won’t fail. Plus the lady who runs the place is very, very nice — three times we bought from her though she doesn’t seem to remember (-;

Great chicken – tender and crispy! We also had the cream pasta which was very good as well. Service was attentive and wonderful. Good ambience with TVs and music playing.

I really wanted to try this place after hearing it was the “best chicken from Korea”. It wasn’t specifically on the menu, but I was able to try both the crispy chicken and the chicken with the signature sauce, I ordered the 18 piece and it was $1 extra to split it half-half. Now, the chicken is pretty good, but in my opinion it might not be the absolute best KFC. There’s some serious contenders out there, and I personally enjoy those more.

More about the chicken though. The signature sauce is some sort of soy-garlic sauce with a hint of cinnamon, which was pretty good: but I liked the sauce-less one better.
