Peking Chef is located in a strip mall. They seem to have mainly pick up and delivery options, but there are tables to eat there. Place your order in the back of the restaurant. It helps to look at the menu online before coming so you aren’t standing there trying to read all they have to offer. The daughter ordered sweet and sour chicken lunch special, which came with a choice of white or fried rice, egg roll of choice (shrimp, pork, or veggie) or crab Rangoon, or soup. She got the fried rice and pork eggroll. I was going to order the Chinese fried chicken, but it didn’t come with anything, so I opted for the pepper steak with the same choices for sides. I chose the fried rice and veggie egg roll. We also ordered crab Rangoon, which came with six large pieces. Our server brought the food out to us in to-go containers, which was very helpful because there was a lot of food. He brought Styrofoam plates and also brought us a bag to put all of our leftovers in. The food was very hot and had a nice flavor. The Rangoon had a touch of sweet without being too sweet like I’ve had elsewhere. Our waiter offered to bring us water, but we bought a can of Coke to share. There are other varieties of Coke products to purchase in either can or bottle. Everything we ordered came to under $30, which I thought was very reasonable. I would definitely come back to try some of their other dishes.

Tom Kha Gai and Schezwan Beef.

The soup was weird. Too many veggies and too many that don’t belong there. The stock was thin and vinegar like. Not enough coconut flavor. I don’t hate it, but have had much better.

The fried rice had too much soy sauce. I like a lot, so me saying that means way too much! It was very salty. I asked for medium heat, and I think the rice was included. Not what I wanted! The meat is supposed to be medium and the rice is not to be hot so it balances the meal. I feel like it is the other way around.

The beef was all onions. I do not consider onions food. They are an added flavor. Too many onions in this dish. They were OK onions. Very tender, but had that old onion flavor. Most of the meat was tender and very good. A couple bites were chewy and rubbery. The heat was on the low end of medium. Less heat than the rice! Trying to eat the peanuts that are left at the bottom brought out the heat. No sauce left there, but the shredded veggies has the heat and were with the nuts.

The crab Rangoon were fantastic! Actual crab flavor. So many places don’t make them that way any more.

The fortune cookie came with a bonus of donuts. That was very nice. Good texture and fresh. The yummiest part of the meal.

I drink a lot while eating. I only got 2 glasses of iced tea. I normally want 4 or 5 glasses. A bit more attention to that would help.

I will probably not order the same meal again. But will go back to order from the full menu. They have Thai food that I am hoping is better.

Update: Went back during lunch to get the Masaman Curry. The curry was OK. I have had both better and worse. So, just OK. Better than the first time there.

Service is still pretty bad. The people are very nice, but not attentive at all. They seemed to always be busy. My soup took a long time to get, and she said the kitchen was busy with take out orders. Except I only saw 4 take out people the whole time I was there, and they were quite spread out. There were 2 people there sitting when I got there. One was eating and the other got her food soon after I sat down. I really do not know what made them look so busy. They did not appear to actually have customers, neither take out, nor sit down. I only got 2 glasses of iced tea. And the second one was only 3/4 of a glass! It’s the little things sometimes.

I will stick with 3 stars. Food is not bad. But not worth the wait either.

For the price, I would’ve imagine a bigger portion. The Egg plant with garlic sauce & Shrimp was the highlight. The other dishes, Lar Nar with Beef, salt & pepper shrimp, and General Tso Chicken was average.

Also, a 3.5% charge for using credit card. Overall, fresh ingredients but nothing special.

This used to be one of my favorite chinese restaurants in town before the menu changed. As a vegetarian, I’m disappointed. The tofu was neither pan fried, deep fried, or baked but instead it is soggy and mushy. It was mixed with frozen vegetables and a poorly flavored sauce. The rice was undercooked and a portion too small given the content of the entree. I unfortunately threw it away because of how unappetizing it was. Vegetarians, look elsewhere for better quality options and more experienced chefs.

I wanted a small shrimp fried rice. They only had a large size. It was disgusting! I asked for green onions and eggs in my rice. They don’t have green onions. There was no eggs in the rice. Regular onions were used and it tasted horrible. It was not fried rice, It was regular white rice covered with brown seasoning to make it look like it was brown fried rice. I will not be going back.

Hello, hope all is well. I purchase several entree orders and I did it online which is my first time. Online is states that you can pick two free items in which I did my order was about $70 dollars. So they did not hold up their bargain of the end of giving me my free items. So I am very disappointed about that and I wanted them items. I have purchase food from there before in person with no issue.

The quality of food here continues to decline. Ordered Pad Thai dish and it was bland and consisted mostly of noodles. The broccoli and Tofu dish was the same. Lots of Tofu though. Will not be returning.

I threw my lunch away! I order the Orange chicken lunch special and it was horrible! The chicken taste like it was old and possible refried. It also had a after taste to it. Even the veggie egg roll was horrible. I just threw the entire meal away. I will not be coming back.

I ordered a delivery and inside the bag was the wrong item. I called the restaurant and they got the manager on the phone (I calmly called and didn’t ask to talk to the manager, just for context) who told me that they could get the right item delivered in 15 minutes if I didn’t mind waiting and that he was very sorry. I expected them to just offer a credit or something similar. I didn’t expect them to bring the correct item let alone in a timely manner on a Friday evening, but they went above and beyond. I love their food and am happily surprised at how nicely they handled the situation. Peking Chef for the win!
