The story is what got us in the door. The food was really good but the location is really the star of the show. Its really cool to eat in such a historic place and they have done an amazing job of keeping the vibe of the early days of the business. The prices were fair and the service was absolutely fantastic.

AuthenticChinese Food in Butte America! It isn’t fancy but is is a great experience and it’s been in business since 1911! Our server Madison was delightful and very accomplished at waitressing. This restaurant is also the recipient of the James Beard Award!
I highly recommend the Orange Chicken and get the egg rolls as an appetizer with their special made in house plum sauce!
Will return! 🙂

Heads up, the food is not the reason to come here.
I ordered the foil chicken, beef and broccoli, and pork fried rice.
None of it hit. The foil chicken was extremely salty and flavorless. The beef and broccoli was extremely salty and flavorless. The pork rice was room temperature warm. The pork was chewy and cold. Did I mention it was extremely flavorless and salty?
Madison, my server, was polite with a great sense of humor. I made a few requests for items like honey and stickers. She was gracious and provided both items. We had many laughs.
The building and many of the items in the building are 1911 original. I really loved being here. It was a wonderful experience. I’d definitely come back, but next time I’m only ordering drinks and snacks rather than full meals.

Don’t let the bad reviews scare you! My family and I stopped in and were pleasantly surprised. The setting is unique, with your table being in a small room with a curtain for privacy. The service was good and our waitress was knowledgeable and provided us with some good recommendations. The food was tasty, particularly their noodles and sauces. After stuffing myself I felt great! I typically feel like junk after eating a big burger and fries but the food here was pretty healthy and light. Thank you!

I grew up eating here and was REALLY excited to take my wife to experience such a cool establishment. Longest running Chinese restaurant in the U.S. and the traditions it holds. Food was good, prices were incredible, servings were definitely on point. Ordered a dinner special for 2, it fed 3 and still had leftovers. The fried wonton in sweet and sour was the highlight. I don’t have anything negative to say. We will certainly be back on future visits.

As others have mentioned this was featured on TV and is in a very historical building that has been continually run by the same family for generations.
We met the current owner and he was very energetic to tell us all about the family business and was very intrigued about our motorcycle adventure across Montana and Wyoming.
The chop suey was definitely a hit and their crab rangoons are some of the best I’ve had.

DO NOT GO HERE! If i could rate them no stars i would. The food was completely inedible. The noise was insane it was deafening and you can’t even talk to the people your with because it was so loud. My partner only got his original soda and never got a refill. I never got the chop sticks I asked for. The inedible food took 45 minutes to get it. The food was cold and mostly uncooked, it was almost like canned food with chopped veggies uncooked and slopped on the dishes. The sauce on my chow mein was some sort of slime and there were no noodles in my, I repeat, chow mein. The “fried rice” was just rice with soy sauce and flavorless. Furthermore there was a large black hair in it. This was the most disgusting and disappointing dining experience I’ve ever had.

I read about this restaurant on NC and made it a point to try it out when in Butte MT. Was busy that night, but found service still to be fast. Ordered the Chicken Mushroom Chop Suey and was great. When back in Butte, will eat there again.
I can definitely see why in business for over 110 years!

The waitress was a saint, and very patient and sweet. The food was really salty, and didn’t taste very authentic to be honest. We couldn’t finish anything because of the salt, and the orange chicken was very weird. The service was great, but maybe something needs to change with how they cook their food. My family and I aren’t picky, but none of us could really enjoy it or finish. My grandma did say something and the waitress kindly gave us 10% off though.

Amazing atmosphere really fascinating history. Mediocre food. The almond chicken chow main was 50% cooked Celery. The fried rice was good but I’m convinced they cook 1 kind of fried rice and then threw cold little shrimp on it. Fried shrimp was good. Egg drop soup was good. The pineapple spare ribs were very good. They were tender and the sauce was excellent. Certainly the star of the dinner
