Lively locale with rustic charm for Greek standards & some American fare, plus Greek wine & beer.

Opened in the early 1980’s, Pegasus continues today to be the best overall Greek restaurant in the Detroit area. Service, food quality and freshness are all signatures and you can’t beat the value for what you get.
I brought my employees here for a festive lunch and the manager Louie took exceptionally good care of us. We started with the flaming cheese (OPA!), hummus, and tzatziki dips served with pita and Greek bread. Yum!
Next up was their homemade lemon rice soup followed what is still the best Greek salad around (although they still don’t use fresh beets).
The feast followed with platters of their specialty lamb chops, Lemonato chicken and sauteed shrimp with my favorite sides of potatoes, peas, green beans and rice with tomato sauce.
Cocktails are very reasonable as are the prices for the food and quantity you receive. Service is excellent as most servers have been around forever.
One note: Monroe St. is closed as of December 2025 so best to park at the Hollywood Casino and walk through to get to the restaurant.

Came for dinner recommended by a friend as a must.. sat at the bar and Brian was very nice and helpful in suggesting food and things to do. Very knowledgeable about the history of Pegasus, the building and the area. Went back the next day to try more food on the menu! Can’t wait to come back to town! Brian provided great service and was very attentive to the patrons! Friendly environment easy to talk to people sitting next to you and start conversations. It was a great experience all around!

It was very loud because some servers were literally throwing dirty plates to their dish bin.
Every time they do that we were like “Wow did someone drop bunch of plates on the floor??”
It bothered me so much.
The food was okay.
I think the best food there was the Saganaki.
My Lamb Kabob was tiny, dry and mushy at the same time.

Honestly the best greek dining experience of my life. Emanuele kanakis got nothing on this. Saw a fight in the kitchen. Owner saved my friend from near death as he was guzzling some lamb at the speed of life. Really got him to slow down and chew his food. Thank goodness. Chris is driving the rental car.

The Greek atmosphere was top notch. The gyro I had was good but only barely warm (that being said, I ate it all). They have 1 Greek beer and a lot of Greek wines. There are a lot of Greek restaurants to choose from in Greektown but this is one to try.

I had the misfortune of dining at this establishment, and I can confidently say it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The food was an insult to taste buds everywhere—horrible in appearance, flavor, and quality. The so-called “meal” I was served looked like it was scraped off the floor of a gulag kitchen; the meat didn’t even appear cooked, resembling a gray, unappetizing lump that could double as a doorstop. The chicken dish was drowned in a sloppy, tasteless sauce, and the rice with green beans and tomato sauce was a sad, mushy mess that tasted like it had been reheated from last week’s leftovers.
To top it off, my earlier order of rigatoni was a complete joke. It arrived cold, as if they’d forgotten about it, and when I complained, they had the audacity to microwave it and serve it back to me with a straight face, claiming it takes a full hour to make pasta—ridiculous! The texture was rubbery, and the flavor was nonexistent, making me question if they even know what pasta should be.
The service was just as appalling. The waitress stumbled around like she’d had one too many, slurring her words and clearly clueless about the menu. When I asked for clarification, she stared at me blankly, as if the concept of food was foreign to her. This place is a travesty—overpriced, undercooked, and served by staff who couldn’t care less. Avoid it at all costs unless you enjoy culinary punishment!

The food came in a good amount of time, and the cheese was excellent. Everything that was received was well cooked and the atmosphere was lively. Food on the more expensive side was iffy for me and my group, but the quality takes the price out of the question. (also, apologies for my group, for leaving too much good on the table)

This is simply the only place in the USA that I felt like I was home in a restaurant. And I am a born and raised Greek. The moment we walked in, it smelled like a home restaurant, looked like a restaurant, and I had service like in a Greek restaurant from home. The food was absolutely delicious, with beans and potatoes, just like mama used to make, and the meat was grilled to perfection. To top all that, the service was absolutely perfect, and that was even better than expected, much better than places we’ve been in S Florida, the place we call home. But again, when your server was a veteran server from cruise ships, that’s what you get. I can’t wait to get back and have a meal there again and see our favorite waiter. If you want to feel like you’re in a Taverna in Hellas, go and enjoy Pegasus. Ευχαριστούμε πάρα πολύ !

If you are a fan of Greek food this place would be good for you. I’m biased since I’m not a fan of every Greek food that I’ve ordered but the ambience is nice the location is perfect just have to park in Greektown garage and you don’t have to walk in the cold/heat. Calamari is a bit chewy but lamb chops were really good.
