We came on a great night! It was “Tiki Thursday” and the owners, Mr. & Mrs. Foong Lin were there. The staff was all in Hawaiian shirts and had great tropical cocktail options. Besides the attentive and fun staff, the food is phenomenal and reasonably priced. We sat at the bar and had such a great time. They had a fun old movie on, and we couldn’t recommend enough. The hot and sour soup and the Singapore noodles were particularly delicious. This was our first time, but it won’t be our last!

Foo Lin continues to be absolute perfection. Every single time we come here, it’s five stars — no exceptions.

This visit, we tried the Hunan flounder special, and wow. The flounder was incredibly fresh — succulent, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The Hunan sauce it came with was bold, flavorful, and absolutely amazing. I’m genuinely excited to post the pictures because we were too busy enjoying the food to do it justice in the moment.

As always, the hot and sour soup hits every single time. The spring rolls are amazing, the egg rolls are amazing, and the spicy shrimp dumplings are out of this world. There is not a single miss on the menu.

And the service? Truly unmatched. The bartending and hospitality here are exceptional. Ms. Lin and Jenny is also absolutely amazing — warm, attentive, and consistently wonderful. The staff makes you feel like family, not just customers.

I’ve been coming to Foo Lin for over 20 years, and I can honestly say it’s the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. I will never love another place the way I love this one. The food, the service, the consistency — it’s all just incredible.

If you haven’t been, you’re missing out. It is and always will be a favorite

I was visiting Bethesda for an event so I stopped in here for a quick bite. Immediately I was struck by the cool interior. The inside is decked out in a tropical theme, and the whole place is lit by cool colors. They also had smooth jazz playing in the background, which was very pleasant to listen to. I provided pictures of their cool bar and a fancy table for examples. They really hit the atmosphere out of the park.

I wasn’t super hungry, so I ordered an appetizer. I ordered the crunchy spicy chicken wings for around 10 dollars. They had a really big menu, but most dishes ranged from 14 to 30 dollars.

The chicken itself tasted very good and had a nice level of spice. My only problem was how they prepared it. I provided a picture, but all the wings were cut in half with the bone showing. I don’t know what the purpose was, but it made for a clunky experience. Some pieces would have a lot of meat, and other wouldn’t. It didn’t ruin the meal, but it was certainly strange.

The owner is extremely nice and his team works very hard. They were super busy the whole time but still made sure to provide professional and personal service to everyone. I felt very welcomed and had a great time because of it.

I would recommend this place for dinner with the family or coworkers. The food tastes good, the service is good, and you shouldn’t miss out on that sweet jazz ambiance.

This place might not look like much from the outside, but it’s a total hidden gem, especially if you’re into tiki drinks! They host Tiki Thursdays every week. People dress up, the bar plays old tiki movies, and they even have shirts you can borrow if you want to get in the spirit. Super laid back and festive.

The drinks are strong and delicious. You can’t go wrong with the classics like pina colada, mai tai and volcano bowls, and many other options to choose from. We had a blast!

Food was solid too. I really enjoyed the Sichuan crispy beef, fried chicken with basil, and pan-fried dumplings. Overall great Chinese bites to go with all the cocktails.

Everyone working there is super friendly and fun to chat with. You can tell this place has a lot of regulars and good energy.

We’ll definitely be back for more Tiki Thursdays. Very happy to have a metro accessible spot like this in Bethesda!

The best Chinese food I have ever had. Mr. Fu and Ms. Ling are amazing hosts and know how to both make the most awesomely delicious food as well as treat their customers like family. Tiki Thursday is a wonderful treat too. Outstanding Navy Grog! Delicious Szechuan Crispy Beef, the best. Amazing Kung Pao beef (you might have to make a special request! :). Fantastic BBQ Pork and 5 Spice Chicken appetizers. I just can say enough. I would go there regularly, but it’s a long trip from Denver! The Best!!!

I should add, this was not a one off experience. I was actually there in December 2024 and it was amazing. Then I was there again in November 1925, twice in four days! Food was consistent and delicious all three times!

My wife and I really enjoy this place, so much so, it is becoming our go-to for Chinese food in Bethesda. This restaurant has been around for years, and in the two times we’ve eaten here, we’ve enjoyed it very much. My wife loves the Orange Chicken (pay the extra $1 for white meat) and the Kung Pao Chicken is the best I’ve had in this area. The prices are moderate, the service prompt, and the atmosphere an eclectic mix of standard dining room next to a tiki-themed bar. We had tea, two spring rolls, two entrees, and a side of vegetable lo mein for ~$80 (included tax and tip)

in the 10 years that I’ve worked in this area I have not eaten at this restaurant. I typically eat at the restaurant that I see as I am driving to and from work. This restaurant is off the beaten path. And I’m glad I took a moment to research to find this restaurant. I was craving Chinese, and I did not want it from the restaurants that I normally go to. I searched this cuisine in the area and this was the first location that popped up. It had amazing reviews and they are right!! the food is fresh , flavorful and prepared promptly ! when I first arrived, the doors were locked. I had no clue that they take a rightfully deserving break from 3:30 to 4:30. I saw a couple Try to go in, they decided to take a seat on the bench just outside the restaurant. I said to myself, the food must be good if they are waiting. this place must be coveted by the locals or folks that live in the immediate area, It is a gem! will def return!

Cool tiki bar/Asian restaurant in Downtown Bethesda. I was in town for work and my coworkers and I were in the mood for.Asian cuisine and this spot had something for all of us. It seems to be a very popular spot, but we were still able to get a table for 6 with no reservations and no waiting. They have signature cocktails amd a full bar. The staff was very pleasant and very knowledgeable of the menu. The food was abundant and very tasty. When back in the area, we will be coming back here again.

Hello, I was really disappointed with the service at this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. We got there and were rushed to order, then our waitress vanished for long stretches. We had to track her down just to get drink refills. And the funny thing is it was pretty slow, so it wasn’t like we were keeping her busy. Maybe takeout would be a better option here if I go back, ’cause the food was good, but the service was just not up to par.

Just felt I want to share my experience.
