Since 1947, our family-owned barbecue spot has been serving up authentic, no-frills flavor straight from a one-of-a-kind open pit. Still run by the original family, we keep things simple with a limited menu focused on doing barbecue right. No air-conditioning, no shortcuts—just decades of tradition, smoky goodness, and oak wood fueled fire that makes every bite unforgettable
Circa-1947 BBQ shack featuring platters & sandwiches in a screened-in room & closed for summer.

The food is always delicious
Ribs are the best in town, my opinion. The beans are great.
I always have to get the chicken , is super good. Meat falls off the bone and the chicken tastes like it was cooked to perfection. Recommend it .

This was our first trying Peebles. The place is very popular for dining in and takeout. We ordered the signature dinner for two, so we could try a little of everything. It comes with five meat and three sides. The sides are all fresh made and tasted great. The meats were tender with the pork being our favorite. It was a great experience.

Food is great. Locals know! The meats especially are the stars. Sauce choice was limited but both complemented the meat well. Fridays are the best, at least to me, since that is brisket day! Sooo good. Collard greens… Yum! Others I tried… baked beans, Mac and cheese, baked potato, just okay. I will try some coleslaw when I go back. Baked Potatoes for example, are great size but were not seasoned or delivered with that super crispy seasoned outside you get some places. Just expect a normal but good size baked potato. Beware loaded comes with margarine, not butter… . And the cheddar is not really good quality either. So just confirm it is what you want on your potatoes before you order, or get it on the side.
Be aware no AC, open screened-in dining at wooden tables. But perfectly comfortable on the day I was there. Bathroom facilities are just that, bathrooms. Functional but Very small.
Service was excellent.
Overall and truly, if you like well prepared meats, and an authentic Florida experience, it is worth the trip.

It ain’t fancy, just good simple barbecue. I haven’t been in a while, but they operated seasonally last I checked. You essentially eat in one giant screened in porch. The kitchen/smoker is right there for you to see how the sausage is made (literally and figuratively).

What can I say. When I first came to area in 2006, I asked people where I need to go to eat. More than one said Peebles BBQ. I have been before, but I believe today was my first visit back since before COVID. The food is fabulous. Southern. Home cooked. Fresh. The type of comfort food you want any time of the week. I had some pulled pork and sausage. Yum. The banana pudding, not pictured was mouthwatering. The collards, coleslaw and beans were delicious. Ali was our server. Excellent. My drink never got empty. I would definitely this place for a BBQ meal. Side note, there is little AC – the “windows” are screens. Locals know this, out of towners will not. (That’s why I have a 4 for “atmosphere”.
The fans and cooler were plenty for us today during our meal. We even had a real estate buyer consultation, it was that comfortable. Thank you all for the good food and service. Stop by if you’re in the area. Warning: closed basically July and August during the hottest Florida summer months. Enjoy!

This place is a hidden gem… and when i say hidden, if you blink, you’ll literally miss it. This is a no-frills BBQ place. There are no fancy tables or chairs, no AC, and the bathrooms are outside. Sit near the pits and you’ll go home smelling like a campfire. But when you are going out for BBQ, you go for the food, not the atmosphere.
There is literally nothing on the menu that I wouldn’t eat. The meats are served naked with three types of sauce on the table too choose from… original, sweet, & mustard based. Quite possible the best collard greens I’ve ever had. Baked beans are incredible. Save room for their banana pudding, the apple or peach crisp (if it’s served that day).
They are open Thursday, Friday, & Saturday only and are closed Memorial Day through Labor Day as they are sourcing their pigs for the upcoming BBQ season. It’s all worth the drive from anywhere within central Florida.

Stopped by Peebles Bar-B-Q while in the neighborhood, lured by the promise of smoky goodness. Plenty of parking—so far, so good.
The place itself? Well, let’s just say it has that “historic charm” of a bungalow that’s seen better days. Inside wasn’t much different, so we opted for takeout.
The people? Super friendly. The service? Quick. The food?
Ordered the loaded mac and cheese, hyped up in reviews. Turns out, it should have been called “mac and please-don’t.” Overcooked pasta swimming in cheese that just wasn’t bringing the magic. My oldest, a mac and cheese connoisseur, took one bite and immediately filed for a culinary restraining order.
The beef sandwich? Let’s just say I now have jaw muscles worthy of a championship boxer. Thought I was getting brisket, but what I got was beef on hard mode.
The whole chicken had promise—great smokiness, but the skin was limp and uninspired.

3 of us got sick with food poisoning. Food was bland, bbq sauce way too vinegary and watery. Potato salad was a vinegary mush. We went with the Sampler Diners, all of the chopped meats pork, beef and chicken were DRY!!! You shouldn’t need the bbq sauce, it should compliment or enhance the food not need it to eat it. The ribs were tough and again no taste. Overpriced to boot! The building itself is old, dirty. Not a hairnet in sight. Guy brought out raw slabs of ribs on an old, dirty rolling cart.

I got the loaded baked potato with chopped pork. I LOVED my meal. My son got the rib plate but he did not care for it. The ribs were not tender at all and were quite chewy. He didn’t care for the sauce. He said the potato salad was good, Cole slaw was okay, and the Mac and cheese had very little flavor. The restaurant definitely has that dive bar feel. The servers were friendly and efficient.

Y’all…this is the place. Hole in the wall, amazing BBQ! Our server Allie was outstanding! Quick, super sweet, and attentive! She even hooked us up with behind the scenes tour of the smokers! Kyle, the guy behind the meat told us all about how much they go through of each one, told us about their made from scratch BBQ sauce etc! We all had the pork! 2 of us had pork sandwiches, with potato salad, coleslaw and baked beans! 2 of us had the loaded baked potato with a side of greens. The potato had to be like 2 lbs! It was massive. So delicious! Would absolutely recommend! Be prepared it’s not fancy, but worth it!
