Incredible experience. The food was so delicious, we had eaten there on multiple days. The portions were large with simple plating because food was the star of the show. Employees were friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean. Red beans and rice with sausage was very tasty. Macaroni and cheese was gooey and so yummy. Jalapeños cornbread was spot on!!

Unique restaurant where you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Family run and the owner, Pearl, have her testimony in the middle of the dining room while we were there. I had fried chicken, purple hull peas, and rice and gravy. My husband had chicken tenders, mac n cheese, and collard greens. It was very good and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

At 11am the line was out the door and around the corner. Easily 60-70 people in line. We came back about an hour later and had about a 30 minute wait in line. The food was good. We had 3 orders. The reason for 4 stars is my fried chicken breast was DRY. It definitely sat out a while before it was served to me. Had to get my drink to get it down. The rest of the food was good. We were laughing at people trying to go hold a table before they ordered. They won’t let you sit down at a table unless you have an order number. Overall, go once and experience it. $62 for 2 fried chicken plates, 1 fried fish plate and a slice of cheesecake is a bit steep to do often.

Wonderful place and wonderful lady running it. Ms. Pearl came out before opening up and shared her story how God has blessed her and she uses her restaurant as an opportunity to tell people about Jesus. Food was delicious as well.

I love that the building is original and they kept so much of the woodwork from the previous jewelry store. Pearl herself is just a gem, perfect example of Southern Hospitality! The best jalapeño cornbread I’ve ever had, and I’m a southern lady. We will definitely be back. Our meal was $45 for lunch for 2, but we opted for “premium” sides.

Excellent place to eat. Like going back in time. Not alot of options but if you like chicken and sides this is the place in Laurel. The history and building just add to the experience.
