Busy even at 10:30am for a sit down breakfast. Extensive menu. Food was plentiful for the prices paid and delicious. Line cook was rocking back there (by himself!) getting orders completed and out to diners. Having had my own cafe I had to give him a shout out. 🙂 Very impressed for our first visit.

Came back to give them another try.

Blueberry pancakes was very good, but had some raw spot in the middle.

Breakfast burrito was tasty, but their salsa had absolutely zero heat to it (even though I asked for the apicyeat salsa).

Service was good. Good was good. Just needs a couple of tweaks and some spice.

*****************

Stopped in to try this location.

– Waffle was food, but very dense.
– Bacon was burnt.
– Breakfast taco was good, but potatoes (hash browns) were not cooked all the way. And there was not spicy salsa for them.
– Texan breakfast was good. But the eggs were ice cold (kitchen is using cold plates instead of warming them up).
– Grits were plain, with no pepper. Tasted good once I added pepper.

Service was pretty okay. Only one waitress handling all of the tables. She did dissappear when things got busy, so we had tobwait a while for the check and coffee refill.

I was heading down 281 after visiting family. The next stop was Stephenville to fill my tank (and the cars tank). I found a family style diner called Peacock’s Restaurant. Trying to park was a bit of a challenge. The place seemed very busy. The time was around 1pm, so the heavy customer traffic was expected. The appetizers came out fairly quickly, given the amount of customers. The service was great. Orders were taken rapidly and food was served timely. The food itself was good. I really English my Philly cheese steak omelet. This was a nice little stop for lunch.

My daughter had a college visit, and the coach brought us here. The food was exceptional. I had pecan waffles, and my wife had pancakes. She doesn’t care for big, thick pancakes, so she didn’t touch it, but my waffle was great.

We decided to stop here for dinner while passing through town. It’s a little small town diner that you probably wouldn’t notice from the street. We found it online and decided to give it a try. I ordered the ham and cheese omelet with toast and grits and it was all great. My wife had the Western omelet and she enjoyed it as well. The waitress was wonderful and took care of everything we needed. If you’re looking for a good breakfast or a home cooked meal, give Peacock’s a try.

Huge failure! Chicken fry was from frozen, instant gravy, frozen veggies, hamburger steak was a preprocessed patty absolutely no seasoning or flavor few onions on top, green beans were beyond overcooked. Salad was good. Don’t waste your money on this for what we ordered. 40 dollars before the tip?

Food was ok. Parts were warm. Not exactly hot. Took a while to get our food. Came just after the crowd. Shouldn’t have taken that long. Taste was good. Wouldn’t recommend or going back.

We had a fantastic breakfast here this morning before my son’s baseball game. The service was the best I’ve had in years and the food was amazing. I highly recommend the Keto omelet too. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Stephenville.

It’s always good. It’s an awesome place to stop if you’re near. With great food, they are usually a little busy. And they are open 24-7

Got chicken fried stake and chicken fried chicken, and be warned they are frozen patties, you just drop in the deep fryer. The chicken fried stake was overcooked and crunchy. Chicken fried chicken, he said was ok for a frozen pre breaded pattie, and the mashed potatoes were just warm. We were just passing through for an appointment at DMV and decided to stop in. I should have gotten the breakfast, lol.
