I thought I made a reservation for high tea. I didn’t. They only serve high tea Friday-Sunday. OpenTable did not make that clear when I made my reservation. We went ahead and ordered coffee, a trio of cookies and a slice of red velvet cake. So many fun flavors! Our party of 5 really enjoyed trying the different sweets. Christmas ambience was very nice. I included photos of the current Winter high tea menu they said would be relevant until early March. Cost for high tea is about $120 + 20% service charge. All of a sudden I’m not sad I screwed up on the reservation!

This resturant was excellent. So comfortable and spacious. The fall decor was such a nice touch. Our waiter was Ismael and I recommend no one else.
Parking was easy and not over priced.
The gave us these adorable Waldorf Astoria Stuffed Owl Animals and water before we left.
The lobster sandwich was ao tasty.
Curry soup was a tiny bit spicy and the BURGER!! was perfect

My fiancé and I attended High Tea at the Waldorf Astoria Washington, DC—an experience that requires booking months in advance and costs $150 per person. What we received was shockingly subpar and absolutely not worth the price.
From the moment tea was served, a loud and increasingly obnoxious group seated next to us took over the space, making inappropriate and racially offensive comments. While their behavior alone ruined the atmosphere, the hotel’s response—or lack of one—was unacceptable.

In the middle of our meal, our waiter removed the table holding our food to accommodate this disruptive group, whose party kept growing. Each tea service is intentionally set up with two tables, yet ours was taken away while we were actively eating—clearly prioritizing another group over paying guests. At this price point, that is inexcusable.

Service continued to deteriorate. We were ignored for an entire hour before the waiter finally returned just to drop off the check.

The experience ended on an equally frustrating note at valet. We waited nearly 15 minutes for our car, only to watch members of the same disruptive group—who came out well after us—receive their vehicles almost immediately.

The food was acceptable and the tea was good, but nothing else about this experience reflected luxury, professionalism, or basic hospitality. This High Tea is overpriced, poorly managed, and not remotely worthy of the Waldorf Astoria name.

Absolutely wonderful experience! I cannot emphasize enough how much of a must-see & do Waldorf Astoria is. If you’re able to make it in time for one of their hosted teas, great, and if not even stopping by for any available reservation I would highly recommend! Impeccable service, great food, immaculate vibes overall. If you are able to get a reservation, I would recommend being hosted by Aamir Khan and manger Albert. Thank you once again, Waldorf, for such a magnificent time!

Extremely disappointed lunch experiences. BE AWARE, waiter auto-charge credit cards with their referred gratuity amounts without providing receipt no matter how many people there are. After checking, we talked to manager with our complaint for this issue.
We are totally fine with 20% tips for this kind of place, but not based on these type of services: unwelcoming faces, never remember you need more water, finally auto-swipe/auto-charge the tips as they like without providing the receipt.

The pizza was very tasty (with prosciutto and honey), but the service was too slow. The atmosphere was very cool and the girl played the harp.

For afternoon tea the atmosphere and harpist were lovely but the food was a let down.

The savories were predominantly stale, someone please inform the chef that they should not be toasting bread and then placing it in the fridge.

The scones were good but the Devonshire cream was NOT clotted, instead just a simple whipped cream. If I am paying $120 for tea the least they can do is provide proper clotted cream.

The sweets lacked balance, very one note. They were cloyingly sweet and lacked any other flavor. The mango tart was practically devoid of flavor, which is almost impressive.

Overall very disappointed by the experience. It’s a beautiful venue but deeply harmed by the frankly amateur level of the food.

If you want a good atmosphere for your afternoon tea, this is the spot! Prepare for a lot of sugar in your food, though.

The pie crust dishes were a tad dry, but, to be fair, that went quite well wit the tea! I had the Strawberry Green Tea and would recommend trying that one.

I will say you will want to plan to spend about 3 hours here. Best to take the metro and walk over as opposed to doing the local 2hr street parking.

We stopped by Peacock Alley for drinks with friends and had such a great time. The service was fantastic—friendly and attentive. Cocktails were spot on and perfectly balanced, and the place itself is beautiful. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Amazing food. We loved the ambience.! Totally recommend it. We were here for dinner as well as for breakfast. They had good menu options for both the times. I have attached dinner n breakfast menus from when we went.

Kids friendly too. Staff were very welcoming to kids and conversations. Our toddler loved the experience there, sitting around in couch ️ or tables..

We missed to get tea party reservations. They were booked for 2 months out. Something to watch for next time we plan to visit.!
