This place is a MUST for breakfast on Hilo side. It’s a small place so reservations recommended if you can. The owner is such a lovely man and the beautiful and friendly gal that served us was wonderful as well.

If you’ve never been…..what the heck are you waiting for? Hospitality from both Paul himself and Bryoni was second to none! From casual convo to perfect meal suggestions, you will not find better service anywhere!! The food was absolutely amazing!!! Kids LOVED the Belgian Waffles, and we loved the Pasta de Marco and Fish Bowl. Both were a great tasty fusion of Chinese and Italian cuisine…..sounds weird but you gotta try!! Try and make reservations as the restaurant seats less than 10 people making walk-ins tough. Do yourself a favor and just go!!! Bryoni….we wish you all the success in your last semester at school. Enjoy.

Such a cute little place! The owner and staff are so lovely. The food was amazing. The best Belgium waffle I’ve had, crispy but delicate and not too sweet. The perfect combo. The caprese breakfast was excellent. Salmon Benedict was delicious. Everything was so fresh.

The best little hole in the wall for breakfast while in Hilo. Wonderful owner and staff, who take the time to ask your name and then interact with you using it. Delicious, wholesome food with ingredients from local farmers market across the street. Lovely attention to details, decor and ambience. They had an amazing playlist for music that I wish I had asked what it was. Pretty serious nostalgia ☺️ I always look forward to coming here when on big island from O’ahu. It’s loved by many so be sure to call for a reservation.

The best food & the best service in Hilo! Went to Paul’s place for the first time today celebrating my husbands birthday. The owner Paul came out personally & took our order, explained the different menu items, we could see him cooking from our seats! The food is fresh & delicious… best eggs Benedict I ever had, hands down best Belgian waffles on the planet, & finally a place that cooks the bacon perfectly!!! This place is worth every penny! Talk about quality food!!! Not only was the food absolutely AMAZING but so was the service. Best dining experience ever!!!

Ahhhhh-mazing!!! You’ll need a reservation, but once you get in, you won’t be disappointed. Exquisite food and experience! We had the Caprese breakfast and the pasta Marco, and wow is the only way to describe the favors and textures!

Paul’s Place was warm, cozy, delightful and cooked with love. It was elegant. Paul and Megan treat each guest like they are the only guest and as if they’ve known you for years and you are true Ohana. And, the food – cooked with compassion and tenderness and so much flavor. They want each customer’s experience to be perfect and they don’t rush you, so they have a very small place with three 2-seater tables – so, you MUST make a reservation in advance, and they don’t do pick-up up orders/food to go. Please make a reservation here and feel the REAL Hawai’i experience that you have probably imagined or dreamed about. If you just so happen to show up without a reservation and get disappointed that you can’t join Paul for breakfast/brunch that day—please make a reservation for another day so you won’t miss out on the opportunity to have this wonderful experience. Oh, and the food was presented beautifully and tasted OUTSTANDING – the best BELGIAN waffle ever (still trying to figure out how he made it so fluffy and very very airy light) served with warm syrup, the best LOX & bagel (fresh salmon, with diced red onion, capers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and apples). We enjoyed the atmosphere, Paul & Megan and the food so much that we made another reservation before we left and drove 1.5 hours from Kona side of the island to have this again, and it was well worth it!! Had the angel hair pasta with mozzarella, salad, and smoked salmon & the belgian waffle again- YUM YUM YUM – Thank you again Paul – thank you again!!!! We will never forget you and Paul’s Place and will BE BACK on future visits to the big island!

Paul explained each breakfast dish to us in such a loving and detailed way, and Megan helped make us feel right at home. Highly highly recommend!!! Do make a reservation – they’re required. And they book up!
