Food and service was very good. I ordered fried green tomatoes and Indian tacos and they were so good. Everything was fresh and I would definitely order again. My husband had pulled pork with homemade chips and he ate every last thing on his plate. He said everything was really good. I stole one of his chips and it was nice and crispy.
Service was great. Our waitress was very nice and friendly,
We would definitely go back. They had a good menu and I really want to try their desserts

This is a restaurant recommended to us by a few locals. It does have a feel of a local place. Nothing fancy, actually pretty plain but it didn’t disappoint. We were looking for a place that serves native Indian food and this restaurant had a section on the menu with native specialties. We ordered fried green tomato as an appetizer. It was pretty tasty. We also ordered trout. That was delicious. You can get it fried or grilled. I went for grilled and loved it. It’s served with fries and hushpuppies. A great meal. We also had fried bread with elk burger from the native menu. It was really good. Simple, tasty food in a family restaurant. All in all, pretty good.

We took a side trip to try out Paul’s Family Restaurant. The restaurant was clean and quiet. Our waitress was friendly but she didn’t offer to refill our drinks even when we had emptied our glasses. The food was good but not outstanding. There are better options in Cherokee.

If you are looking for local dive place this is it. Pretty standard American food. Was hoping for traditional Cherokee cuisine. They do have fry bread and Indian Taco. I’ve had both those on Navajo tribal lands.

Local trout, rabbit, buffalo, and elk were also on the menu.

Food portions were good for the price.

Atmosphere is very 1980s. Service was slow but I think there were only two servers working when I was there. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

We went to Cherokee for the weekend and lucked up on this spot!!had the shrimp olatter.. elk burger …Buffalo burger and the mountain trout ALL of which were amazing as well as the fried bread!! If you plan on cherokee…PLAN on Pauls…some of the best eating anywhere!!there’s a little stream next to the restaurant that feeds into the river across the street so you can hear the water flow and walk across the street to check it out just amazing experience all the way around!!

Food was alright (burger was a bit dry) but it was cool to try some fry bread, which otherwise is hard to find in the eastern USA.

Service was a bit slow but not as much as reviews suggested in my opinion and the server was kind so it’s alright.

Once again, we had to come up to Cherokee to visit, and our very first stop was Paul’s family restaurant. We cannot get enough of that place. When you stop, make sure you say hello to the bubbly Priscilla. She’s amazing, and you will not be disappointed with the food

AWESOME DINNER AT A FAIR PRICE.

We had 2 orders of Mountain Trout, grilled and lightly fried, both were fantastic! BEST DINNER over 3 different restaurants in Cherokee. Came with good hush puppies. Substituted regular fries for onion rings and sweet potato fries – both very good.

Previous review denigrated the cook and food. Others complained about waiting for a table and/or service – must have been personal problems – because we so no such issues. Very casual & relaxed place so don’t expect plush chairs, linen table cloths and napkins, fine china and silverware and tuxedoed waiters. If you want to pay for that crap, then you should go somewhere else.

Also, Cherokee IS a tourist town, so expect restaurants to be busy with tourists – especially during peak days, hours, and seasons. If you crave constant personal attention from waitstaff in a busy tourist restaurant in a small tourinst town, then go to the casino and pay 2x the money for dinner. However, if you want excellent food (at least the trout) at a fair price and decent enough atmosphere, then please try Paul’s Family Restaurant.

a couple years ago, my family and i came to visit cherokee, stopped here to eat, and LOVED IT! being that we loved it so much, we stopped again for dinner last night, but didnt enjoy it near as much as we did last time. our server made us feel extremely rushed, asking if we wanted drinks AS SOON as we sat down, im not exaggerating. as soon as she brought out drinks, she was asking abt appetizers and meals. this usually isnt much of a problem but she was acting and speaking with lots of haste. we ordered cheese curds for the table, and we definitely enjoyed them. it was a HUGE basket and the food was warm!! but when we got our entrees, two burgers, a quesadilla, and a ranch wrap, the food wasnt hot, just lukewarm. my dad asked for extra mayo, and she had completely forgot about us and we had to go ask for it. mind you, the restaurant was not busy. it was also pretty pricey i for what it was and the service we received. our bill was over 80 dollars for 4 people. my mom is a big tipper, and even she only left 3 dollars. who ever was serving us could use some help with her techniques.

The food was ok, but the service left something to be desired. Our salad came out 10 minutes after our meal, and our server neglected to bring back condiments and refill drinks.
