Paul’s has a nice atmosphere and the usual solid bakery selection, but the cappuccino was a bit underwhelming. It lacked depth and richness and tasted fairly flat, which was disappointing given the price. Fine spot to sit and grab a pastry, but I would not come here specifically for the coffee.

As a regular visitor to the Paul chain this little cafe keeps the atmosphere with charming customer service. The layout feels a bit cramped even though there is an upstairs (which isn’t obvious). The cafe feels a little tired but I still enjoy the unique experience Paul has to offer.

Great family owned bakery, with plenty of seating options, great pastries, and sandwiches. Their chocolate filled pastry was very delicious. Coffee was good as well.

Rather a watered down version of the Paul’s I have enjoyed in France and the UAE. You order your food at the counter and then wait at the servers where you balance all your drinks and plates of food and condiments and napkins and cutlery on a circular tray that you carry over to your table. You then unload the tray and find somewhere to stash the circular tray. The food is pretty standard but not as fresh as I was expecting. I had a strawberry tart that didn’t feel like it was made recently. I was provided with a knife and folk to eat it. The coffee was nice. The atmosphere downstairs was reminiscent of a bus station cafe (busy, noisy and a little cramped) where as my experience in French and the UAE was more high end ‘tea shop’ with table service in a patisserie environment.
May be better viewed as a Paul’s ‘to go’ rather than a full dining experience.

Very over priced for what it is. Coffee was served to hot so bitter. Cleanliness was woeful. Dirty mop visible. The tables weren’t being emptied or cleaned. Customers wiping their own tables down. You get better service in a Greggs!!

One of my favorite places in Oxford. They definitely have the best coffee and the friendliest staff, so I always leave in a great mood after visiting this cafe!

Paul is overpriced for what you receive, especially when dining in on a weekend. I received my drink in a paper cup and my cake in a box. That said, I felt unwelcome. The hot chocolate was overly sweet for my taste buds. It’s a shame. The setting on the high street was perfect, but the presentation was lacking for your store PAUL

I’ll start with the food and coffes – they were good. My mocha was v good.
Unfortunately ( for the staff) I chose a piece of pastrie from the window gallery, the girl seemed not very happy that she needs to bring it. Maybe it would be good to make a counter closer to the window:D especially that after getting my sweet treat the whole tray never came back to the gallery eventho it was full:D
The thing I didn’t like the most was the old dirty and unfreshed smell from the ventilators…
