This is a prime location for a food truck so I expected it to be pretty good especially for the price. I get it, food costs have gone up quite a bit, but $15 for a steak fajita burrito with mostly rice was disappointing. It was pretty bland even with the hot sauce added.

We also ordered the jalapeño cream cheese quesadilla which was $6 for the full size. The guy asked if we wanted the kids or regular size — we opted for the regular thinking it was going to be bigger and share… we should’ve got 2. The flavor was good though…

Service was just ok, nothing special. Atmosphere was nice because hello, you’re in Hanalei.

Excellent food for thought and sport. We tried several attempts eating here ,finally on our last day of sampling the top 14 fish taco establishments on Kauai, this place did not disappoint. Fresh mango salsa, and a variety of items on the menu this place has mojo. It has a bit of adoration locally, business days are variable.

Portions were small and we ordered many a sort of tasing menu.

Pat was probably wondering why we took so many pictures and asked so many questions. But was a genuine dude. 2 thumbs up!

Great spot for lunch at the beach near Hanalei Bay. Savory selection of tacos and burritos. Highly recommend the Pork tacos, they were excellent! Come early (closer to noon) they do sell out .

food truck located just off the Hanalei over. Sells your basic tacos, burritos, quesadillas. I decided to get the ono fish burrito for $12 and asked if the size was decent enough to fill me up and was told they’re pretty big. Burrito comes with cabbage, rice, an aioli sauce. I was pretty disappointed because the burrito was smaller than I thought and there were only five small pieces of fish in the entire burrito. Felt like it was full of cabbage and rice rather. The only sauce available is tapatio. The food was ready pretty quickly and seemed like a one man show, Pat was taking orders, making food, and calling out. For this price point and size I wouldn’t recommend and would rather go over to one of the other places in Hanalei.

This is quite possibly the worst taco I’ve ever had. Being unsure of exactly how big they would be we ordered three: one fish for each and split the pork. Biting into the tortilla was like biting into an oily towel. The fish was as bland as it could be and the portion size for $6 was a joke. Do not skip the hot sauce bottle if you try these out, you will need every drop to get some flavor in your mouth. Note, on the size side, the tacos are served in 6″ tortillas.

The pork had a little more flavor but was still a greasy mess of a taco. Not exactly what I want when I’m out in the sun, ya know?

There is only one picnic table so plan to take the grub with you home or back to the beach.

I will say, the burritos I saw looked much better so maybe that’s a better option. I won’t be finding out though…

Best tacos around! Best quesadillas around! Great prices! Anyone says otherwise, just isn’t used to Kaua’i prices. Cheaper than sub-par alternatives Thanks Pat!!

The dude working the truck is extremely rude. Food is bland and hyer priced even for Kauai. Don’t waste your time or money here. I live on the island and can confirm Pat’s is terrible.

Not impressed at all. The driest and tasteless fish taco we had ever tried. It was $6 what a rip off. The steak burrito was alright. The meat was chewy the rice and beans inside were tasty.

Pat’s Taqueria was one of the most disappointing food experiences I’ve ever had in Kauai. There was absolutely no Aloha here — the staff behaved as though serving customers was a burden and we were doing them a favor by showing up. The prices were shockingly high, which could have been acceptable given the prime Hanalei location, if the food or service was worth it. Unfortunately, neither was.

We ordered a vegetarian quesadilla and were completely baffled to find it stuffed with lettuce and salad greens. Who puts salad inside a quesadilla, let alone charges $15 for it? Not only did it taste terrible, but it felt like a careless attempt at food. On top of that, the bottled Jarritos were $4 each — not only overpriced, but served warm, which added to the frustration.

This place comes across as a cash grab, with zero effort made toward food quality or customer care. The staff don’t crack a smile — maybe that’s another fee they intend to charge.

Bottom line: avoid this place unless you have no other option whatsoever. Even then, you’d be better off finding anywhere else to eat in Hanalei.
