I would’ve much preferred to give this restaurant 3.5 stars.

We stumbled into Pats on our way back from the state park. Pat’s had been a restaurant my husband wanted to introduce to me. I love small mom and Pop owned restaurants. This one was no exception. The food is typical Midwest non-pretentious food. If you like fried food, this menu is for you. If you prefer healthy non-fried options, there are a few choices but not many. That said the service was very good. My husband did have an 8 ounce steak which surprises both as it came more like a skirt steak than an 8 ounce typical steak. I was surprised that smoking was allowed in the bar. The bar is very close to the tables . When I questioned I was told there’s no smoking in the banquet room. If cigarette smoke bothers you while you eat, this is not the restaurant for you.

We recently dined at Pat’s Steakhouse, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The fried chicken was exceptional—the breast was incredibly moist, possibly the best we’ve ever had. The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, showcasing the kitchen’s expertise.

However, there were a few areas that could use improvement. The potato salad leaned heavily on mustard and was a bit dry for our taste. The salad bar was underwhelming, offering limited options that didn’t quite meet our expectations. Additionally, some of the staff’s behavior felt unprofessional, it may have been a misunderstanding, but it slightly detracted from the overall dining experience. Our particular waitress was top notch and very attentive.

Despite these minor issues, the quality of the main courses made our visit worthwhile.

First off, the inside is very nice! I really liked the decor. But that’s about where my positive experience stops. It took a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were there…keep in mind there was 2 tables occupied in the restaurant at this time. Once seated, the waitress was friendly, and took our order. The food was fairly quick to come out. I ordered the 14oz ribeye with mashed potatoes and steak fries. The steak fries where actually 4 potato wedges, not steak fries. The mashed potatoes where very bland. The steak had zero seasoning, and was tough and chewy. At the end, we had to get up and go find the waitress to get a to-go box, as we hadn’t seen her since the food came out…this included no refills as our glasses sat empty. From the time we entered the building to the time we walked out after paying, not a single person asked how everything was. The guy taking my money at the counter for the bill, said not a word, except how much i owed. And to top it all off, the parking lot was covered in packed snow and ice…and a gentleman had to push his (assuming) wife through that in a wheelchair to get in the building.

Visited here in the early 2000’s and got to meet Pat, herself, who liked to prank my friends.
Still here, family run, great stop, say hi to Elvis!

Pat’s steakhouse is some of the better food we have had in a long time. My Mother and Father in law live close, and we come here frequently! The food is great, the service is great too. They even started carrying Coors Light for my Father in law! Cheyenne is the waitress they usually get, and she’s most kind, as is the rest of the staff!
Thank you for being around for our family! It’s much appreciated!

I eat here almost every weekend and could not ask for better food or a better atmosphere. The cashier is awesome.

The steaks are top-notch The burgers and sides are also great. The deserts are good if you’re still able to eat after finishing your meal (we have taken the pie with us for later.) I did not love the catfish.

The dining area is adjacent to the bar area. There is a pool table and a jukebox. The dining area is a little dark, as you’d expect from an older bar and grille.

Don’t let the roadhouse feel scare you away from this steakhouse. The food is awesome and they’re just happy to see you.

Update:
It seems as if you’re allowed to smoke in the dining area. I’m not complaining, but was just surprised people still do that. I have been back several times, anyway, and will be back again.
