Looking for a great lunch spot in Scarborough, Maine? I highly recommend Pat’s Pizza on Route 1. I stopped in with a real estate client while taking a break from touring homes in the area, and we were both impressed.
The meal was served fast and fresh—exactly what we needed. Our server was incredibly attentive, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, making it a great place to meet clients or grab a bite after exploring Southern Maine real estate.
Whether you’re a local, a homebuyer visiting Scarborough, or just passing through, Pat’s Pizza is a solid choice for great food and friendly service.
I went for the dine-in experience. The floorplan was poorly done, I think they could redo and have a lot better customer flow. The walls were busy with lots of pictures and plenty of flat screen TVs playing sports. There is a full bar. The bathrooms were well stocked and clean. The staff was friendly and efficient.
I tried the lasagna which came with a house salad and garlic bread. I had a couple of bar drinks and also tried the mud pie for dessert. Sorry I didnt take a pic of the pie, I was two-thirds done before I remembered I was doing a review. It was yummy.
Everything was pretty good, no complaints. I am usually pretty stringy on giving anyone four stars, but I gave them 4 stars on service. I like to have a dirty Roy Rogers (grenadine, Coke, whiskey, in a tall glass). This is the first place that did it perfectly on the first try. Usually they use either a short glass or not enough grenadine. So hats off to the bartender. Also, my server was pretty darn good too.
At the beginning of this year, I ordered a small Royale for take out, only to find out when I got home that it was a Taco pizza. I gave it to my friend, end of the story, it happens. However, it happened again last night, ordered my pizza, I got there 20 min later to find out that my Royale pizza never got processed and I got questioned if I called another Pats, “I did not” I had proof in my phone. I said, ” I talked to a guy on the phone” ( there was a guy there ) and they never acknowledged the mistake or error, no apology either, just business as usual.. I ordered another pizza since I am already there, the basic, cheese and pepperoni. I had to wait another 15-20 min in..I got my pizza home, and it was really bad. There was barely any dough there, it was actually a flat bread with some cheese, pepperoni and tomato thrown there.
In conclusion, the mistakes? it happens, but the lack of customer service together with the fact that the product was bellow what I call “expected” on a basic pizza did it for me. I have to recognize that the place gets slammed in the early evening hours, but yesterday was slow, I got there by 7:30pm.
I won’t be going there anymore, not worth the trip, and the money.
Initially the pizza was cooked completely, and that was then remade to half baked. The problem really was the make-up of the pie: there was so much cheese on top of the alfredo sauce that the crust became soggy. Also the cheese covered everything thickly so that you couldn’t taste the alfredo. The toppings were unevenly distributed across the surface, with the chicken on only some of the slices and red onions the same.
With such a lot of cheese, the pizza becomes very heavy and does not cook through. I suggest less cheese, even parmesan instead of cheddar, so the alfredo sauce flavor comes through. Also taking care to distribute the toppings all around the pie, rather than clumping them on a limited number of slices.
We will be back at Pat’s again, but we will order a different type of pizza.
