What stood out most was the attention to detail in the aesthetics. The restaurant is beautifully designed with multiple seating areas, each offering its own unique atmosphere. There’s even a sectioned-off space for large groups that resembles a private room—ideal for celebrations or gatherings.
Despite a slight language barrier (our server primarily spoke Spanish, and we spoke English), the service was excellent. Our waiter was extremely patient, attentive, and accommodating, which made our experience even more enjoyable.
The menu is impressively diverse, offering everything from seafood and steaks to burgers. And let me tell you—the burgers are a standout. I would absolutely recommend trying one if you visit.
Whether you’re planning a date night or dining with friends, this place is a solid choice. I’ll definitely be back and won’t hesitate to recommend it to others.
The variety of quality steaks is great, including the rack of lamb, which was the one I tried. Together with the smashed yuka. Super delicious.
Very well located in the Naco neighborhood.
Valet parking is available.
I recently visited this restaurant in Santo Domingo, expecting a top-tier experience given its reputation and high prices. With over 20 years of experience in food and beverage, I was shocked by the poor service and food quality.
We were a group of four and ordered Black Angus as our main course. Unfortunately, the plates were served cold, and the meat was even colder. To make matters worse, the dressing provided was not enough for all four plates. After finishing, our plates sat on the table for 20 minutes before anyone came to clear them.
To top it off, we found wine cork bits in our red wine, and when we brought this to the staff’s attention, their response was simply, “This is normal.” Also, it’s important to mention that we were there at 4 PM, not during rush hour, which made the service quality even more surprising.
For a place considered one of the best and most expensive in the city, this experience was truly disappointing. I expected far better given my background and the restaurant’s reputation.
A solid place for steaks and meats, everything was good here including the pasta. The service was also very good, we arrived later in the night and they took care of us.
One thing I was particularly impressed with was their cooking temps. The meat was cooked exactly to our preference, and you could tell that the chefs really knew what they were doing. It’s always a treat to find a restaurant that knows how to properly cook meat, and Patagonia nailed it.
Now, let’s talk about the wine list. As an Argentinean restaurant, they had a fantastic selection of Malbecs, which paired perfectly with our meaty meal. The wine complemented the flavors of the meat and enhanced the overall dining experience.
However, I do have to mention that the service could have been better. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t outstanding either. There were some delays in getting our orders taken, and the waitstaff seemed a bit overwhelmed at times. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it was definitely noticeable.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for an Argentinean restaurant with excellent meat quality and on-point cooking temps, Patagonia is worth a visit. The chorizo for the appetizer was a highlight, and their wine list with great Malbec selections is definitely a plus. Just be aware that the service could use some improvement. Nevertheless, I would still recommend Patagonia for a delicious meaty meal.
Update: I went to enjoy a ribeye steak at SBG Sofias and it was so much more tender and flavorful.
