P.S. The only thing I would change about the place is that they would salt their fries, as I find them quite bland . However, a bit of ketchup makes up for that.
This time we ordered the Family Pack (like usual) and received more breading than fish when we got our order – 5 of the 6 pieces barely had any fish while the 6th I would say was acceptable, but all 6 pieces were still quite small overall from what we used to get prior. Each “piece of fish” will fit on a burger bun itself whereas before each piece would have to be cut in half to fit on a burger bun.
Very disappointing, probably won’t order it again even if it was tasty overall – the quantity and breading was a major turnoff for the price, great fries (more than needed) and good coleslaw (VERY small portion for 3 people).
Neither of us has ever had perch and we LOVED the beautiful fish with the amazing seasoned crust. We also had the haddock on recommendation from the server and weren’t disappointed.
There’s a reason my dad grew up with this, and my dear Pepe was on the mark. This is a gem of a shop and we will add it to our list of favourites when we visit from Calgary.
We had the 2 piece Halibut special (Tuesdays Only) with cole slaw and a bun.
Best Halibut in Windsor area for the price and we know because we have tried Gilligans, the old Kildare House and Frydays.
Nice and moist fish, light batter and two good size Halibut fish.
You will not be disappointed.
I must mention the coleslaw and tartar sauce are also the best.
I had Onion Rings while my wife had fresh cut French Fries.
Ample parking
To start with the positives, the service was fast and efficient, and the restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained. However, the quality of the food left much to be desired. The fish in the daily specials was extremely disappointing—overly greasy, with a thick, unappetizing crust that lacked any distinct flavor. It felt heavy and unenjoyable, which was a letdown as I had been looking forward to trying it.
The shrimp and calamari were somewhat better but only “ok-ish.” They were passable but didn’t stand out or compensate for the poor quality of the fish.
Fish and chips were delicious, and the portion sizes are amazing. Coffee was good, too!
If you eat fish, you have to go. If you haven’t gone, you’re missing out!!
