Server was fine, didn’t hover, pretty good timing.
Food was fantastic, fish-n-chips was darn tasty. Perfect fried level on both, there’s actually 3 filets but in the picture I’d already started one. The fries are sidewinder style. Good portions.
Started with Reuben wontons were different, not bad, just something new for us.
This is another on a list of small restaurants in Iowa City / Coralville area that we’ll definitely go back to. If you’re in the area and hangry for fish-n-chips look no further. Next time I wanna try the Irish stew or shepherd pie.
Good parking out front. They have a patio and they are in a quiet neighbor So that might be nice in the summer.
Second the service. While the person faked being friendly-ish, the service was slow, I mean sloooow. They weren’t that busy when I got there. They were doing a lot of standing and talking amongst themselves. I had to signal several times to get my check to pay. When they did finally come over, I handed them my credit card and the person rolled their eyes and walked away. I saw them slap the card down beside the terminal and then work on other things before checking me out.
Third thing it was so loud inside this place. With only a third of the tables taken up I could barely hear the person next to me talking. The crowd was definitely not my type of crowd. I won’t be back.
It’s locally owned and the owner is super nice and truly cares about the customers having a great experience.
It’s a fun environment to watch a game or just hang out. They have Bingo nights and such to keep it fun.
The service has always been excellent anytime I’ve been here. They have a good beer selection, with plenty of local or unique options.
The food menu has a good variety and for someone like me who is pescatarian, they have several options, plus if you eat meat, their burger of the month always looks tasty and very creative!!
Good location in Coralville and close to Tavern Blue, if you want to bar hop.
