Eclairons is a beautiful new café in Old Town Alexandria, and I’m so glad they opened here. The coffee is excellent, and my breakfast bagel sandwich with tomato and egg was the perfect start to the day. The éclairs and pastries are absolutely delicious and stunning to look at — truly works of art.
They offer a great variety including breakfast burritos, croissants, sandwiches, quiches, brownies, and cookies. Their Valentine’s desserts are adorable, whether you’re celebrating with one person or a crowd. My favorite item is the almond banana bread — light, fluffy, and unbelievably good, like banana bread meets an amaretto cookie.
The space is warm and welcoming with beautiful wood, greenery, and a cool mural by the entrance. Make sure to walk around the full pastry display so you don’t miss anything. They also have fun drinks like honey cardamom coffee and pistachio lattes (with cute latte art!). Bonus: a few parking spots right out front, which is rare for Old Town. Can’t wait to go back!

Kid and adult approved We went a week after opening, on a very busy Saturday morning around 10am. They were well-stocked for the most part and the line was moving along. You could tell they were trying to keep up with all the orders, but service wasn’t rushed. They ran out of one item we ordered but immediately substituted with another of our choice without extra charge. We got two eclairs (chocolate; pistachio), a s’more cookie and a valentines cupcake. All were delicious, well-packaged and elegantly decorated. Will have to try again for their savory options. Seating was full but plentiful for the space. They maintained the old Firehook Bakery layout but updated everything. The bathrooms were a huge (and welcome) update. A couple of high chairs also available, as well as a ramp at the entry for strollers and wheelchairs.

I had such a great experience at this pastry and coffee shop! The moment I walked in, the place smelled amazing—fresh pastries and rich coffee. Everything looked beautiful in the display case, and it was honestly hard to choose because it all looked so good.
The pastry I ordered was perfectly fresh, and full of flavor, and the coffee paired with it perfectly. The croissants are also so flaky and buttery, best I’ve ever had. You can really tell they care about quality and the little details. The staff were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better.
If you love great coffee and delicious pastries, this place is definitely worth stopping by. I’ll absolutely be coming back!

I ordered a strawberry cupcake. It had pink frosting and a pink wrapper. It was beautiful looking, but the cake wasn’t strawberry, it was yellow. Also, the frosting was not good. It kind of tasted like soap. Very disappointing and I feel like it’s false advertising. If you ordered a chocolate cupcake, you wouldn’t expect to get yellow cake. Same with strawberry.

Great menu, kind and friendly staff, and a wide selection of baked goods that taste as good as they look. We had a caprese sandwich, the bread was a delicious fresh baked sesame roll. Easily our new favorite neighborhood spot. Child friendly.
I saw another reviewer negatively compare this bakery to Firehook; that’s absurd. Our family never liked Firehook, their croissants were dry and their bread was no better than store bought. Everything we had at Eclairons exceeded our expectations.
