Oh! How I missed my “Pastrami N Friends.”
I’ve been in Florida for the past 5 months, so when I got back to New York, I needed my fix of Pastrami N Friends on Commack Rd in Commack.
Now I know, we all have our favorites when it comes to kosher delis, but for me, nothing beats my friends Ernie & Ronny at Pastrami N Friends.
They have been here for decades which says a lot these days.
I went to lunch with a friend and we shared a pastrami on rye and a corned beef ion rye bread . My friend loved the corned beef, but for me, the juicy pastrami was my favorite! We also split an order of hot and crispy onion rings and a square potato knish. Both were delish.
We washed it down with a Dr. Browns soda and gobbled up the creamy coleslaw and assortment of pickles that came at no charge. Our server Christine was amazing. Always friendly and with a smile .
Take a look at the picks and lick your lips . You can almost taste the goodness. The perfect lunch with my dear friend!
Highly recommend when you’re in the mood for a classic. Enjoy.

Such a delightful classic experience. Delicious food. Friendly service. Of course, pickles gratis. And Cole slaw.

A staple in the Commack community. Growing up in Commack, it was a long overdue visit Pastrami N Friends. I can see why it is special here and still around for many to enjoy.
We only did a take out. We might try it out and stay next time. Fresh food all around. For a cold day, the food was just right to warm our souls.
Parking available and shared within

We were very happy with the food. Didn’t have to wait long at all. The coleslaw was fabulous. They refill that and the pickles. Knish was very soft inside although difficult to cut. Matzo ball was huge! Lean pastrami was tasty. French fries crisp. Love that the burgers are done on a grill! The waitress, Sharon, was superb. She made sure to accommodate us in every way possible. Guys up front were super friendly, caring, and all had smiles. The team really shows concern as to whether you enjoyed the experience. Atmosphere is old- fashioned, but that’s the vibe they are going for. Even took a deconstructed hot dog to go! It’s nice to know there’s a good place to go to in Suffolk

Twenty dollars for a pastrami sandwich. I was shocked at how small it was. Honestly it wasn’t even worth ten bucks. I’m not exaggerating. And it was barely edible being extremely fatty. Doesn’t even come with fries. At least every table gets a bowl of Cole slaw and pickles. By the way, bowl with around 7-8 large pickles for two people. No way can two people eat all those. What happens to the uneaten pickles? I hope they are thrown out and not saved and re-served. Definitely won’t be back. Server was nice though.

Purchased 2 matso ball soups and 1 serving of chicken breast (looked like 1 breast sliced thinly which I have no problem with). The food was fine but not $32 fine. Spoke with another customer who agreed it was very overpriced ($45 for 2 coffees and 2 regular sandwiches). Staff was very polite and was willing to give an itemized receipt if asked, but were not transparent about prices (particularly the chicken breast).

sadly i’m so very disappointed with my take out pastrami sandwich
first the amount of pastrami was beyond less than proper
the “juicy” was dry as the sahara
i don’t care about the cost i do care that the level of quality has dropped so far
it used to be great then got to be good
now it’s just OKAY
i’m sad
if travel isn’t an issue lido kosher in long beach Smokes this place now

Everything about Pastrami N Friends is amazing!!! It has that authentic Kosher deli vibe that makes you feel at home. You must get their pastrami sandwich… it was delicious and juicy. The chicken matzah ball soup was flavorful. Even their burgers were great. The service is superb; our waitress was attentive and friendly. They are super nice behind the counter too! This was our first time dining here and we loved it so much!! Highly recommend this place and we can’t wait to come back with family/friends!

I thought the pastrami at Sarge’s Deli on 3rd in Manhattan was good. But not as good as this 40-year-old kosher deli in Commack. The rye bread held together well, the hot, thinly sliced pastrami… freshly made. The rye bread did not fall apart like at other delis. My cup of split pea soup was deeply satisfying, fully flavored; you don’t see this on menus. My husband’s chicken in a pot soup w/Matzoh Ball was a fully loaded chicken noodle soup, served piping hot & full of flavor that comes from days of simmering. We also enjoyed the potato pancakes with applesauce. Potato pancakes looked like fried bone-in chicken breasts. And the applesauce was homemade as well, not sickeningly sweet, but light & addictive. Definitely will come back. Not cheap but a nice customer behind me gave us a few coupons.

Wow! What a great place to eat. The people are so nice. The menu is Kosher. I had a corned beef sandwich and coleslaw on the side, delicious.
I highly recommend Pastrami N Friends.
