Pastis offers crowd favorites such as Onion Soup (delicious even in the heat); Escargots; a selection of Steak Frites; and the perfectly-made Cheeseburger à l’Américaine. New additions to the menu include French regional specialties like Big Eye Tuna Carpaccio dressed in tomato and chili vinaigrette; and Baked Cannelloni filled with ricotta, spinach, ham and parmesan, that bring tastes of the South of France to Florida. Raw bar platters and charcuterie abound. And, bien sûr, what is a night out without bubbles or rose? The list of cocktails, wines, and beer will keep the celebration going all night long.

Dinner was great from start to finish. We had a difficult group of 12 and the server Ricardo kept up with us with no issues and mess ups on all our customizations, he held up with our table the whole night and did an amazing job. All the food was good with no complaints , would definitely come back

My friends and I recently checked out Pastis, a French restaurant in Miami, and honestly, it’s a really cute spot–with both indoor and outdoor seating. We dined outside, and the atmosphere is cozy, almost like sitting on a little European terrace. Charming and relaxed.

Service was a bit hit-or-miss. The reception was welcoming, but once we were seated, it sometimes felt like we were a bit of a bother. The bread basket took 20 minutes to arrive, and even though we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, there wasn’t much acknowledgement–other tables were sung to, but not us.

While I can’t say for certain, it did feel like the service we received was different from other tables, and it seemed influenced by the fact that we were the only black people in the restaurant. It’s not about the bread or dessert itself, but about consistent, attentive service for all guests.

We started with onion soup and burrata. The onion soup was rich, savory, full of flavor, and so comforting-definitely a great way to start the meal. The burrata was fresh and creamy, though we had ordered baguettes to go with it, and it took a while for them to come, which left us waiting to fully enjoy the dish.

I tried the Miami Mango mocktail (passionfruit & mango puree, lemon, grenadine, tonic). It was very tart and leaned more toward passionfruit than mango-not my favorite, but if you like tart drinks, it might be for you.

For mains, we had:
Gratin au Macaroni with Ham
Spaghetti Bolognese
Chicken Paillard with Almonds & Picholine Olives
Linguine Vongole
Boeuf Bourguignon with Frites

The Chicken Paillard was seasoned but the combination of the salty olives and the acidity of the lemon made the dish extra salty. The salad was fresh but topped with parmesan which is also salty didn’t help balance it. If you order this, go with mashed potatoes for a better balance. The macaroni and ham was creamy with a good texture but also on the salty side. The Bolognese was fresh, but nothing spectacular.

The highlight dish was definitely the Boeuf Bourguignon with mashed potatoes-tender, buttery, and basically melted in my mouth. The mashed potatoes were light, airy, and creamy–truly a perfect combo. If you try one thing, make it this.

For dessert, I had the Crème Brûlée, which had a perfect caramelized top and thick, creamy texture. Flavor-wise, it was a little mild-more milky than rich and could have had more depth.

Parking is easy: street parking is available, or valet is $25 if you’re not a member.

Overall, Pastis has a charming vibe but a few overly salty plates, inconsistent service, and slightly overpriced menu items keep it from being perfect. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again, and I have to note that the way our table was treated felt noticeably different compared to others, which was disappointing.

Where food meets adventure—see you back at the table!

A charming French restaurant in Miami with a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The escargot was delicious, the foie gras butter was outstanding, and the pasta was perfectly prepared. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. Highly recommend for a comfortable and elegant dining experience.

First time here… found this by chance while looking for a nice birthday brunch in Wynwood. We’ve been to France multiple times in the last few years – from Paris to Provence and in between – and this meal was spectacular. The standout dish was the tuna carpaccio – that lemon vinaigrette with shallots, chives and olive oil was glorious. I had been wanting to try leeks vinaigrette for a while, and these were delicious. Although I’m not an avid foie gras fan, this one was delicious and paired with the fig jam and brioche wedges – perfection. The steak sandwich and onion soup were also amazing, wasn’t a big fan of the crispy artichoke, but it wasn’t bad, per se. This sticky toffee pudding was better than what we’ve had in the UK, just saying. To top it off with the mango drink, was perfect. Our waiter Gianni was also great – his recommendations were on point. Will definitely be returning soon.

Fantastic French restaurant in Wynwood, Miami. It had been highly recommended to me by some hard core foodie friends of mine, and went recently to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was a hit! Every dish was delicious, the flavors delicate yet so tasty, everything cooked just right. I ordered the Chicken Paillard and it was perfectly done, so exquisite. We also ordered the Tuna carpaccio and… Oh, my! My friends ordered Escargot and loved it. The steak and frittes was perfection. For dessert, we had the chocolate mousse. Just delicious! The service was great even though the place was packed. It is pretty pricey, and they do also add the service charge to the bill… I wish Miami restaurants would stop doing that already! Other than that, the place is definitely a gem. The decor and atmosphere transports you to a very romantic place. Love it! Will be back for sure

UPDATE. Pastis reached out in an unusually personal fashion, and we had a good conversation. This is highly unusual. So, leaving original review, but making a note that management is certainly open to suggestions and trying very hard. Which is both impressive and unusual. It should be emphasized that both service and ambiance was outstanding, and food very good. ORIGINAL REVIEW. We know Pastis from NY. Ambiance is nice. Service was excellent. But. They are stingy and cheap. Had the Pasta Bolognese. Didn’t have much grated cheese on it, asked for more. $1 surcharge. Also asked for more sauce $3 surcharge. And ofc. No choice tipping. 20% automatic. And then they ask for even more tip!!!! This biz model will die. Additionally crazy garage opposite restaurant charging $20 parking midday on a week day. I live here in Miami. This place has become a complete tourist trap. It’s just sad when you feel ripped off. Surprised we were not charged for seats, fork and knife. But that sure is coming. All in all we ended up spending $120 for a simple basic lunch for two, midweek, no drinks. I can afford it, but is it worth it? Ofc not. It’s ridiculous.

I’m returning to this place for the second time to give it another chance. I’m particularly drawn to the burgers and the great company. The service was impeccable, smooth and elegant.

I also tried the steak tartar, which was good. However, I wanted to try something different, so I ordered the steak tartar.

Fist time at any of the three Pastis by Starr. Like always a great place. Awesome ambiance. The food so good. The French onion soup, phenomenal. Escargot nice and garlicky, buttery, tender. The omelette was on point, nice cheesy, and fluffy. The best salad was a great addition to the brunch. A great addition to Midtown, Miami.

The experience wasn’t the best. The menu is very limited; they only have three pasta dishes! Very basic, and they give you a huge drinks menu, so it seems like people go there more to drink alcohol than to eat. I ended up ordering the lobster risotto, which was awful, not creamy at all, and the lobster was incredibly tough. The waiter was only there to take the order and bring the bill, not to provide any kind of service. Terrible.

Pasties is a beautiful place with delicious food. The only thing that bothered us was that it was a bit difficult to understand our waiter. Other than that, we really enjoyed our time at the restaurant. Don’t forget to order appetizers. Appetizers were amazing with those breads.
