We really loved this restaurant. It feels like a true French bistro … authentic, romantic and cozy. We tried several dishes, including a celery-based vegetarian plate and a local fish, and everything was absolutely delicious. A special mention goes to the staff, who were exceptionally friendly and warm. They made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

After drinks at De Oude Mol, slipped into Pastis next door. Plates solid (Niçoise + confit de canard both on point), pommes dauphinoise the necessary addition, service sharper than the Dutch baseline. Pricey, yes — but show me a place that isn’t these days.

The escargot was okay. The steak was tiny for what it cost, and the taste was also okay, wasn’t amazing. The bill ended up being about 120eur (for two) but we left the restaurant still hungry (we ordered 2 steak dishes, 6pc escargot, shared 1 dessert, and a couple of drinks). The vibe was nice inside, the interior design was spot on, and the service was great, but I honestly don’t think that price is justified for that quality and amount of food..

Overall, I had a good experience. I ordered the duck confit. I had never tried this dish before, as I don’t usually order duck. However, the waitress recommended this dish to me, and I love chicken, so I got it. I enjoyed it and was happy with the recommendation.
They serve bread and butter while you wait for your food, which was of great quality and delicious. They even had their own Pastis branding on the butter packaging, which was super cute and professional.
I didn’t give the restaurant five stars for two reasons:
It’s not the best for solo patrons.
1) Crowded atmosphere. When I got there, it was very awkward because the restaurant was crowded and the host seemed stressed from the crowd + working multiple jobs within the restaurant (She ended up serving me too. She was wonderful but I did not get her name). The restaurant is super small, so I felt like I was standing on stage and everyone could see me. I dined here for dinner, so it was dark outside. The lights in the restaurant were fully on, so sitting at the bar felt like everyone was watching. It was a bit uncomfortable, so I ate my food as quickly as possible.
2) I went to this restaurant specifically for the Côte de boeuf, which looks outstanding from images I’d seen in other Google reviews. However, at the restaurant, I learned that this dish is only served to two people. It’d be too large and expensive to order as one person. The waitress was kind enough to ask the chef if they could cook a half-order for me, but the chef declined. I was very sad. Also, this dish is not on the print menu.

Magnifique. A very nice truly French dining experience. The place is very cosy with a truly French atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We passed it many times. It is always full so we were keen to try it out ourselves. We were not disappointed at all . The dishes are great. The plates are nicely made up.

We did not have a reservation, but they were super nice and allowed us to sit at the bar. The service was very friendly and efficient, the food came out quickly and perfectly prepared. Both the sole (fish) and there Niçoise salad were delicious, and the wine was perfect. Great, lively ambiance completed a wonderful time.

What a lovely restaurant. There is a casual, busy and friendly atmosphere in a French bistro setting, the service was attentive, kind and efficient and the food and wine good. The menu is uncomplicated classic French prepared and cooked well and all that for a remarkably reasonable price.
