First time trying this authentic Italian on Wooster Street in New Haven. With family for a celebration dinner. Francisco was knowledgeable and friendly. The apps were good sizes and delicious- especially the fried zucchini flowers filled with ricotta & Prosciutto. My entree- Zuppa di Pesce was delicious and a good sized portion. Took 1/2 home and enjoyed it the next day for lunch! All the others had great comments about their entrees * see photos. They graciously allowed us to bring a cake from my son’s restaurant where he- a CIA grad, is one of their Pastry cooks. Remember to go to Libby’s ( next door) for Cookies- have been eating them since the 1950s!

The food was fantastic! That’s mostly the only thing I care about when eating out, more than the ambience or service, although it was pricey! The place is cute and homely, and the servers were very attentive. Definitely recommend the lobster ravioli which was their best dish, fried cod spaghetti and pesto gnocchi were good too. Another must try is their mortadella crostini appetizer. A good visit if you don’t mind the price

Nice pasta and the seafood is very fresh. However, the servers started packing up our food and clearing the plates before we had finished eating, as if they were eager to rush us out. The place was also quite noisy. I do not really feel like going back a second time.

UPDATE: ordered Uber eats from here and absolutely LIVID.

Paid $30 plus tax, tip and Uber fees for Chicken Parmesan. It did not come with pasta as a side, which was annoying but I was aware. But it was advertised as chicken parmesan with sauce and cheese.

I got a flat, breaded and fried chicken breast with no cheese, no sauce – nada. For $30+ !?

Was definitely not my Uber driver, this was the restaurant’s doing.

Never again. When I pay premium price, I demand premium care and this is just completely careless and unbelievable. I’m astoundingly disappointed in what I thought was a new favorite restaurant.

Do not sleep on Pasta Eataliana.

Absolutely blown away by the quality of the service and the food.

Started with the Carne Alla Genovese, which was absolutely delightful and set a high expectation for the entree that we didn’t know if they would reach.

We had no idea how well it would clear the bar.

I had the taglitelli Bolognese, and yes the flavor on it was downright phenomenal, but the thing I appreciated most that you do not experience in most Italian American restaurants was that the pasta was cooked perfect al dente. So many restaurants here overcook their pasta, but I was so incredibly happy this was cooked perfect. If you’re unsure what this is all about, it’s the pasta equivalent of a steak being cooked medium rare – exactly how it should be.

The wife got Risotto pescatora, and she gave it a 10/10. Delicious, absolutely would recommend, it didn’t skimp on the Calamari and the broth was fantastic.

The portion sizes were hearty, dare I say, slightly generous like an Italian grandmother would make sure you had enough to leave satisfied.

Lastly, I got a cocktail, boulevardier, and as a Bourbon/ whiskey guy, it was a friendly pour but went down so deliciously smooth.

Service was friendly and attentive, but not overly bothersome. The seating was comfortable, lighting was great, and atmosphere was on point.

I can’t recommend this place enough and am so pleased to have such a great restaurant around to revisit for special occasions. There was just something about it that felt like the quality would always be there. My compliments to the chef /owner / staff. Just, wow. Bravo.

On a very late Wednesday night, my work partner and I stopped in and were warmly welcomed. Even though we were the last dine-in guests of the night, the service was outstanding and the attitude was genuinely positive.

When the food came out, we were blown away. The sauce in each dish was rich and flavorful, and both the fish and the meatballs were absolutely incredible. The flavors were perfectly balanced and cooked to perfection.

Easily one of.. if not the best.. Italian restaurants in Connecticut.

I’ve eaten at Pasta Eataliana a few times and it’s always delicious. The staff was friendly and had great recommendations. The grilled octopus app was 9.5/10 and I will definitely order it again. The beggars purse pasta special was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had recently. The sauce was rich and the pasta was STUFFED with filling, 10/10. The limoncello cake was light and refreshing but I wish it had a little more lemon flavor but I would still happily eat it again. They do a split serving style where all the servers stop by your table so my drinks never were empty. Overall a delicious dinner and pleasant space.

I recently dined (again) at an PE and as always it exceeded my expectations (again). this is a big statement for a restaurant on one of the biggest and iconic food streets in New Haven. (Wooster). The food, especially the pasta, was amazing–perfectly cooked and bursting with authentic flavors. The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, and the appetizers were just as delightful. The quality is consistent every time, and the service is top-notch, making each visit enjoyable. The intimate setting adds to the charm, creating a cozy atmosphere ideal for a relaxed meal. Highly recommend for anyone craving great Italian cuisine!

This place is AMAZING. This was the best Gnocchi I have ever had. So soft and tasty. But the pesto? I almost cried it was SO good. It’s a beautiful bright green and so fragrant. If you love pesto you’ll absolutely love this pesto. I wasn’t sure how to feel about the portion, but honestly with how delicious it was I’m more than happy. I couldn’t even finish it! The waitress and waiters were extremely friendly. They were attentive and walked around every so often to check on us. There is a projector playing scenes of a hike, and it really added to the ambiance.

My boyfriend had shrimp and scallops (one of the specials) and was just as happy. I don’t eat shrimp but they looked huge. We both had wine and they were so tasty.
