Abusive staff | Pathetic Service | Indifferent Owner.

Really horrible experience. I ordered a cake via doordash for pickup. Well in advance 2 days. First of all their place was picked only coz they seemed to be the only option which does eggless cakes.

For whatever reason, doordash was showing that their place is closed and I had to call the owner and ask them if it is open.

She spoke to doordash and got it opened. I placed the order. Just to confirm, I called the lady owner again. This is around 1pm for a cale to be picked up around 5pm. She mentioned that doordash doesn’t notify her until 20mins from pickup, which was weird. How/why should the service not inform the owner in advance especially for an item like a cake.

Anyway, she asked to call at around 4pm. I then called her and said that she had told her staff to keep a ready. I then left to reach the place at around 5:20pm and when asked for the cake, the receptionist said it is not even ready. And I need to wait for 20mins.

I had to finish so many other things and time was a crunch. What’s the point of pre order? I asked him to please hurry it up. I told him that I have been on constant call with the owner so this is least expected. To which he said you never called me. How is one person expected to know his number. Ordering on doordash should be sufficient.

When I told him this and asked him to hurry it up, he started abusing me. That was the tipping point.

I called the owner lady and doordash customer service to cancel my order and refund the money.

I have also raised a complain with doordash again this restaurant and how they treat customers.

Even apart from that – the place is really badly maintained, dirty display cakes.

It is obvious that I will never go there again.

We used to love this place few years ago especially for their buffet and pastries, but today we were taken aback with the quality of their pastries. I am glad we tasted all their available eggless pastry flavors before ordering for a birthday party. Unfortunately they all tasted the same but with different colors and were little dry for a pastry. They also don’t have dine-in anymore.

My friend and I recently went to Passage to India to try their lunch Buffet. Honestly, we had set a low expectations because the price was on a lower side.
The buffet spread was huge, there were few starters but the gravies were a lot. We really liked all of the gravies. Sarso ka saag and makki ki roti was a hit. The roti was very crisp and authentic. Kids loved the chana bhatura, kheer and moong dal halwa.
Dont expect a very nice and cosy dine-in experience, the restaurant is very basic but with good food.

I had ordered a mango cake for my baby shower for the first time. The cake was too good and less sugary. Loved it.
Tried their whole wheat bread and nan khatai too. Amazing.

Small Indian bakery. Bread here was tasty. Samosa and puffs we’re good. The taste of cake was super. Average buffet. Friendly staff. Limited parking and was very difficult to park here. Sweet are there.

I stopped by Passage to India Bakery on El Camino this evening to try their new weekend only buffet, and — the food did not disappoint. Everything was very flavorful, fresh, and tasted just like authentic North Indian cooking without being too oily. The curries, indo chinese, pan bhaji, chole bature and chaat were especially on point.

The setup is simple — more like a makeshift dining space inside the bakery — so don’t expect anything fancy. But if you’re here for the food, it’s easily one of the best North Indian spots around, way better than most places on Castro or in Sunnyvale

This review is for the bakery. I ordered a wedding cake. I had a particular design in mind. The manager worked through with me on understanding the design. The final cake came out beautiful and it was super-delicious. Thanks for all your efforts in making the yummy cake that everyone in our party enjoyed.

I was not impressed with Passage to India Bakery in Mountain View. The place was very dark and uncomfortable, which did not make for a welcoming atmosphere. They serve food on paper plates rather than regular plates, which was cheesy for a restaurant. Food was a letdown too—not hot, not flavorful, and without any real spice. You can order food that is not in the buffet, yet they bring everything out at once and make you feel as though you should hurry. On top of that, the owner’s grandparents were constantly walking back and forth, shooting us dirty looks, making it even more uncomfortable. And to top it all off, the price was expensive per person, which absolutely did not match the food or quality of service. Wouldn’t recommend.

This is a rather ordinary place. The buffet spread is extremely large. I don’t think anyone can try all the items they have. Far too many and each is the usual crowd pleaser for the typical Indian immigrant.

However, the whole experience is mediocre or very underwhelming. The ambience and furniture and the general structure of the place is rather low quality and not that well maintained either. No dish stood out. The naan was not soft though chana batura were quite good.
