An authentic taste of India nestled in the heart of Carlisle. Excellent service, very friendly and cordial. Food made from scratch, so one must be patient. When it came, oh! So delicious! Large portions, spiced to order, flavorful and tasty. Plan on taking some home for the next day. Will be back.

If you haven’t tried this place yet you are missing out! The original Passage to India in Harrisburg has been my favorite Indian restaurant since I was a child – and I’ve lived all over the country. Decor is a little bit brighter than the old location, but the food and service is the same amazing quality. My mom doesn’t do spice at all and they are very accommodating. The rest of my family shares half the menu at all spice levels and love every bite.
PSA for saag fans: this is one of the only chefs who doesn’t use heavy cream! so yummy.

Wow! For many years, we visited passage to India when it was in Harrisburg. We were so excited to see it here and rediscover it in our town of Carlisle! The three of us had such a good time here this evening. First off, you won’t find a better waiter than Mark anywhere. He is knowledgeable about the cuisine and helpful with suggestions and served us as though we were in a Michelin star restaurant. You might think you are, because the interior is bright, beautiful and all the details are attended to from nice silverware and serving dishes to cloth table coverings under glass. The food was excellent and each of our entrees were perfection. The portions are gigantic. We’re looking forward to having round two for lunch tomorrow!

First time in and I can say the food was truly delicious. Samosas were great. All of our entrees were delicious and large portions.

However, if you are a family going to dinner on a school night, go early and be prepared to spend a while there. Went on a Thursday night and service was attentive, but it still took almost 2 hrs from start to finish.

In the end, the food is worth the wait but do not go on nights where you’re in a hurry.

What a wonderful experience. I’ve been fortunate enough, by God’s Grace, to have traveled the world. Growing up in the 60’s, the atmosphere of comfort & kindness, unfortunately has been missing in our world today. The experience at Passage to India was a reminder that God Presence is always near. Thank you for a fantastic dinner, and absolutely amazing services. Continued blessings!

The food was so freaking delicious!!! It’s a great restaurant to visit in the area; I usually take pictures before I eat my food but this time it was so good I even forgot!!! If I lived here I’d come here often. The service was great, roughly a 15-20 minute wait but boy was it worth it. The food was amazing, flavorful and umami, just how I like my lamb! If you are wondering it was Halal, which means the animals are treated humanely in life and in death. Once again, I heavily recommend this place!

This location stands out from other options in the area. Very good atmosphere once you enter the dining area. They did seem short staffed, as we were told there would be a wait; it took us 30 minutes for our appetizer and another 30 for our main dish. But the food was well worth the wait. Very satisfying flavors and spices, as well as excellent lamb. Very good amount of menu options to try as well. Would very well recommend.

Honest one of the best indain foods I’ve tasted in a long time, the people are very nice there and even the actual sitting down part is very relaxing to me. Best restaurant in Carlisle

Always wanted to try some Indian food. Found out about the buffet today – perfect way to sample. We were delighted that each dish was introduced to us – flavor, ingredients, amount of spice etc. The service was friendly and on point.
