  4.0 – 3 reviews  $$ • Soul food restaurant

Social Profile:

Founded in 1947 by two brothers, Robert and James Paschal, the restaurant started as a sandwich shop that didn’t even have a stove. The brothers would cook in their home and transport the food by taxi to the restaurant. The specialty was a 52-cent fried chicken sandwich.

The signature fried chicken stars at this popular, brick-walled spot for Southern specialties.

PHENOMENAL SERVICE!!! Melissa was our server and she was truly incredible! Highly recommend to request her to serve you because she was exceptional. The food wasn’t the greatest and it was overpriced. I absolutely loved the peach cobbler for dessert; that alone made it all worth it. If I were to come back it would definitely be for the dessert.

I meet up here with a couple of friends, that I hadn’t seen in years. I really love the ambiance, clean bathrooms, and decor. I didn’t like the valet only aspect though. The food was very good and our server, Trey, was the best! Would absolutely revisit, especially if I’m in the area. I live quite a distance from the restaurant. We all enjoyed our meals, fried catfish, fried chicken for me, and another friend had the meatloaf.

This spot was recommended to us by a local person as we were traveling from Canada. We had a late lunch here. Food, atmosphere and service was wonderful. Mac and cheese was probably the best I’ve had in my life. Yams were way too sweet to even eat, would not recommend. The sweetwater 420 is a pale ale and the server had absolutely no knowledge about it, it would probably be best to be aware of what your establishment offers. But she checked in with us frequently and other servers around us were personable and full of energy!

Valet only, there was a $5 prepay requirement. The establishment doesn’t accept cash payments for food/drinks.

The food was great. Yams were yamming. Mac n cheese was cheesy and moist. Tori, was even better. No wait. Loved seeing the robots. Only thing I’d fix is the automatic gratuity. Tori was worth more than that. I’ll visit again. Very kid friendly.

The food was pretty good. I had blackend salmon (slightly overcooked and dry), mac and cheese and brussels sprouts! The lemonade is great!

Visited here from the North on the hunt for Southern Food that hit the right spot and THIS WAS IT! The staff here was super helpful with our large group, the server was friendly, food selection was on point and the turnaround was very quick! They had the robot servers and everything was SO GOOD AND WHOLESOME! I would easily come back here.

Went to Paschal’s for lunch after a great visit to the Georgia Aquarium. The place itself is very cool, a bunch of black history of the City of Atlanta, a city to busy to hate. The food, outstanding, served hot and fresh by a very attentive server. The parking was $5 but worth the money to not have to find a place on the street and easy to get in and out of. Fried chicken was some of the best, Mac and cheese very good also. Had the gumbo as an appetizer and the taste was great except the temperature was a little cool. If you have never been there it is a must try in Atlanta. I would recommend this restaurant to both locals and tourist.

We went here for a coworker’s retirement lunch and I enjoyed the food. The catfish was hot and seasoned well. I had brussel sprouts and they were tasty. The macaroni and cheese was ok but I think I’ll order the yams next time. A coworker had the black eyed peas and she said they were bland. The jumbo shrimp and the gumbo was also very good and our waitress was excellent! I would definitely dine here again and try the fried chicken next time.
