Bustling, old-school, NYC-style deli with sandwiches & other traditional fare plus a pickle bar.

My friend and I had lunch here after a long hike. It was bustling inside! The woman next to us recommended the matzo ball soup, so we both ordered that. DELICIOUS. I ordered a pastrami reuben and my friend ordered a turkey reuben. The pastrami was incredible. I took some stars off because our waitress forgot some of the things that we asked for and was gone for about 20 minutes when we wanted to pay the bill. Otherwise, our food was delicious. I will be going back!

What an institution. For years, I’ve heard stories about this deli inside a strip mall just across the D.C.-Maryland border. On New Years Day, I popped in since it was open. There was a line to get into their restaurant. The deli counter was busy, but after ordering their famous Reuben sandwich with pastrami, I was eating within minutes. And wow- their Reuben was delicious. The rye bread got a little soggy due to the Russian dressing, but the flavors were well balanced. I’d go back for sure!

Second visit here for me. My man loves a deli!!! I had the chicken cheesesteak with hots and he had the hot pastrami Reuben. He always enjoys a pickle bar! This was our first time trying eggplant “fries”. Crispy on the outside soft in the middle. I enjoyed them! And of course we grabbed chocolate top cookies and humantashen on the way out.

I told him I wanted a Reuben without meat and with tomatoes instead and I said some places call that a grilled cheese sandwich with sauerkraut tomato and Russian dressing and that’s exactly what he charged me for. I honestly don’t know how you can make a a pan fried cheese sandwich so light and delightful. I guess part of it is the dressing is fantastic and the sauerkraut was tender, not chewy at all. This place has been the go-to deli in this part of Maryland for a long time and I’m very pleased to announce it’s as good as it ever was. If you eat in, they haven’t all you can eat pickle bar. Oh yes.

Definitely coming back to this restaurant, the staff were amazing, the food was out of this world. Can’t say enough good things about this place, if you like Reuben this is the place to get the best one.

Excellent food. We had the pastrami, corned beef, lox, latkes, and onion rings. Everything came out hot and very quickly. The portions were appropriate for the price and the flavors were all on point. The pickle bar was not to be missed.
They were busy when we got there (ever seat was full, but we were seated within a couple minutes.
We didn’t get a chance to explore the baked goods and desserts, but they looked fantastic.

We come here often for breakfast and it never disappoints. The breakfast quesadilla (with salsa) is delicious, and the pickle bar is such a fun bonus. Service is always great — we frequently have Iris as our waitress and she is amazing: friendly, quick, and welcoming. The covered back patio is a great perk when the weather is nice. They’re especially kind to our toddler (who regularly asks to go to the “pickle bar restaurant” ) and our infant, which makes it a favorite for our family.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in the Silver Spring area. The food has consistently always been good. I have been very impressed with their pancakes, coffee, club sandwich, BLT and blondies It is a very popular place though and they are generally very busy. On my last visit my party and me were asked to leave once we finished eating.
