We kind of stumbled upon this roadside BBQ stand on our way to Denali and it didn’t disappoint! My family tried the pulled pork, ribs, turkey and slaw and all were great.
There really isn’t anyplace to sit for more than 2 people on a bench but the food was delicious and the prices were reasonable.

My friends recommended me this food truck when she went to Denali several months ago. This food truck is a hidden gem. I ordered pulled pork and beef. The beef is super tender and pork is really juicy. The guy who is running this business made everything from scratch. If you got chance, highly recommend to stop by here.

Stopped by Steve’s Cantwell BBQ food truck on a whim and wow—so glad I did. I ordered the Hot Hog pulled pork sandwich, and it was hands-down one of the best BBQ sandwiches I’ve had in Alaska. The pork was juicy, flavorful, and had just the right kick of heat. What really took it over the top was the homemade coleslaw—perfectly creamy and crunchy, adding a cool, tangy balance to the smoky richness of the pork.
The sandwich was piled high (no skimping here), and the bun held up beautifully. Service was friendly and super fast, even though it was clear the food was made with care. You can tell Steve knows what he’s doing behind that smoker.
If you’re anywhere near Cantwell, don’t miss this little food truck gem. The Hot Hog is worth the stop—and then some.

I was driving through on a Tuesday and it was the only food place open. Food was delicious and the menu was surprisingly large. Prices were very reasonable. I would not only stop here again but would be looking forward to it.
