Friday night we went to Parker John’s, a BBQ restaurant we had visited once shortly after it opened. We remembered it being good but, for some reason, never made it back, until now.
Going to a BBQ joint for a fish fry might sound a little strange, but Parker John’s offers an all-you-can-eat beer-battered haddock and/or southern fried shrimp for $18.99, and curiosity got the best of us.
We started the night with a perfectly muddled Old Fashioned, which immediately set the tone.
We started with the Wisconsin cheese curds, and wow. Lightly breaded and seasoned with garlic and parsley, they were salty, garlicky, and perfectly cheesy, so completely addictive.
Another dinner ordered was the burnt ends. While they could have been a bit more tender, they had great flavor and a nice crust.
Now for the fish fry which was the real surprise of the night. I went with both the haddock and shrimp. The first round came with two generous haddock filets and a solid portion of shrimp. The haddock is beer-battered in-house (I believe it was made with Bud Light), and the batter was light and crisp while the fish was flaky.
The second round brought out another large filet and 10+ more shrimp, which was impressive.
For a place known for BBQ, I was honestly floored by how good the fish fry was. It’s not just good for a BBQ place, it’s just plain good, and I would absolutely come back for it.
Our server, Alexia, was fantastic, friendly, fast, and informative. We’ll definitely be asking for her again on our next visit.

Stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday. It was busy with a lot of younger people (teenagers) and regulars. I ordered the brisket burnt ends. They were decent, nice and meaty, but it had a lot of sauce on it. It would’ve been nice to chose the BBQ sauce I wanted. I also got a peach cobbler to go, so I didn’t get the ice cream. It wasn’t the best peach cobbler, it was mostly a cake type crust with a little bit of peaches in the middle. Over all I would go here again and try the all you can eat wings!

Chris is an amazing waitress. We came in tonight. We were told it was going to be a 40 min wait we said that was fine and we used the duck machine to waste some time and were seated in less than 10 minutes.. everyone was really friendly even tho they were all really busy. Chris is by far our favorite waitress this is our 2 time here and we hope we get her next time. Food is amazing as always! Keep up the great work guys!

I love the food here and I almost always have a good experience but I came an hour and a half before close last night and received very poor service. We were treated more like we were in the way than like we were paying customers. Our server didn’t check on our table once and hardly made eye contact. The food will always bring me back here but I really hope this was just a personal experience and not something that is common.

Food is pretty good. Some servers are great others meh. Last time we went was a Friday and the haystack onions tasted fishy (yuck!). We also ordered the garlic nots, they were also a little fishy, but I’d they’d use a seperate fryer for fish this could be avoided. We also felt the garlic nots should be cut smaller prior to cooking. That would make them easier to eat. The pizza sauce was extra thick (and tasty). Our server was so extremely good we didn’t want to complain about these things. Just a few small suggesting for our future visits. We made a “linner” visit… around 3:30pm.

Went here for a quick dinner while in Green Bay based on reviews. The host and server were very friendly and pleasant. Server gave us a tip on ordering an app we wanted to try as a side to save a couple bucks. The turkey Rueben is amazing. Kind of expected dried out turkey, but. It was moist and delicious with just the right amount of smoke. Haystack onions are great too, a lighter onion ring. Would visit again. Above average bbq restaurant

My husband and I came in for the first time to the Green Bay location. The place was busy but people were smiling looking like they were enjoying the people and they looked happy. Beth was our server this afternoon and she was delighted to have as our server. She made our first time a treat. food was awesome I got the smoked chicken Philly and my husband got the brisket it was both delicious and we even got to take some home for later. We will be back and hopefully it’s just as great.

As a business owner myself she seems to be a key asset to business and drawing people back. I loved my experience here and when I travel back for another game or business ill hope she is still there to wait on me and hopefully a few other colleagues of mine. She was a delight to have wait on us and made pir dinning experience one of the best. It felt like home away from home. Food was good and atmosphere was pleasant. Service absolutely wonderful.

Excellent BBQ that certainly hit the spot. We loved the brisket, ribs, burnt ends, potato skins, and the sides were excellent. Would definitely get BBQ here again.
Next time I will have to check the bag before leaving with takeout . . . They forgot to include the 3 BBQ sauces I ordered. I had to use my own BBQ sauce at home, which was kind of a bummer.
