Have ordered take out in the past and this was the first time we ate in.
The service was prompt and we got our orders very quickly. The staff are friendly and it’s always so sweet to overhear staff and customers call each other by their first names.
We ordered their small version of Haddock and chips and Haddock and mashed potatoes. Both generous portions.
The fish is spot on, the batter is light and thin so most of the piece is fish. And it was cooked perfectly. The chips were crispy and the gravy very good. The mashed potatoes were so buttery!

Doesn’t serve white milk. I had fish and onion rings. The coleslaw was delicious. It was great as far as I was considered. Was very warm and inviting. Had a great time.

Omgosh! We’re pretty new to Hamilton and still finding our places. Parkdale Fish and Chips is DEFINITELY one of them! Busy place but very organized and super quick with their orders. We came home with our order of fish and chips and found a free bowl of clam chowder for us to try…scrumptious and ever so nice! Both the fish and chips were perfectly done…we WILL be regulars! 5 Stars!

Great customer service and the food was great as well. The clam chowder was very tasty and the chips were amazing and the fish was great as well. The only thing I would love is if the fish was much bigger than what it is now. Maybe 25% bigger would be awesome. But I can’t complain about the food overall because it was all amazing. Great Restaurant. I would highly advise going here.

My first time at this restaurant and I was pleased with just about everything! My son recommends this place highly and was excited, because today, September 1, is when they start serving chowder. Naturally, my son ordered the chowder and it was the best clam chowder I have ever had in Canada! The fish was lightly battered and moist. I just wish it was a little crispier but I know how tricky cooking fish can be. You overcook it and you come up with dry and rubbery result. Their fries were absolutely a must try! Thick with a great bite. I may be wrong, but they seemed freshly-cut and prepared in house. Their home-made tartar sauce was a nice addition to the fish. The place was clean and the lady that waited on us was very pleasant, and so was the chef who brought us part of our meal. Overall, my first experience was great and this will definitely be a place worth going back for. Go get some chowder while in season–September 1 to April, so I’ve been told! This joint has a real chef in the building!

I always enjoyed eating here! You get alot for your money! Fish was perfect not greasy like dome fish! Sad thst they are closing! Loved the British tea towels on walls! I have been coming here a long time! Such Friendly staff!! Wish them Luck in whatever path they choose! Amy

This review is based on take out and my brief encounter with staff. Due to COVID rules, only one person is allowed at the “take out” area, then you’re asked to step outside. Once your order is ready, your name will be called on the PA system. The older gentleman taking my order was friendly, outgoing and explained the catch of the day option to me. The restaurant was clean and the same can be said about the bathroom I asked to use.
I’ve had terrible fish and chips experiences several times in Hamilton (to the point where I’m giving hope) and even though this was takeout and about 15 minutes until I got to eating.. the fish was perfectly cooked and the batter was not overly thick and still had a bit of ‘crisp’ to it. The fries were perfect (not salted.. as a matter of fact you’ve got to salt everything if salt is your thing) size and cooked. I dislike it when you get MASSIVE cut fries, thats almost raw and soggy from grease inside – which seems to be the norm in Hamilton.
5 stars with confidence! Next time I’ll dine in to get the real crisp.
