Tried out the igloos that they setup during winter. Atmosphere was really nice and the setup was nice but my food not so much. I had the Tuscan chicken which tasted of garlic and that was it. The chicken was little strips that looked exactly like the stuff you can buy at the grocery store in bags you heat up. My wife’s meal, the crab stuffed haddock was cold in the middle and the side of rice pilaf was nothing but mush. Overall I can’t recommend this place.

We are from out of town and found this restaurant online and are so glad! It had great food and an even better view! We ate outside under the overhang and there was a live musical group to enjoy as well. I had the Cobb salad and my husband had the meatball sub. Would definitely go back if we are in the area again.

The bartender, Jayde, behaved in a very gross and unprofessional way. She reached under her skirt to fix her clothing and then, without washing her hands, picked up a lime and put it in someone’s drink. It was really unsanitary and hard to watch. On top of that, she was rude and short with customers, which made the environment feel uncomfortable and unfriendly.

Great food and service. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. The food was hot, crispy and tasteful. We had fried shrimp, chicken tenders, fish sandwich, homemade chips and fresh cut fries that were all excellent. The only item we did not care for were the shoestring fries.

We went there this evening but the entire place was empty! Couldn’t found a soul so we could ask if that’s a restaurant or just a golf club! The location was very nice and it’s a hilltop location with breathtaking view! But unfortunately we had to return from the entrance! It was around 6:00 pm which was 1 hour after scheduled opening time! May it was our luck!

We love Tavern 27. They have amazing drunken mushrooms. So tasty!!! They serve Pepsi products which is a plus. I have no complaints about the service.

Full disclosure, I work here, but my time spent here has shown me that the food is consistently good to great, the food and alcohol prices are pretty reasonable, and the views can’t be beat in Altoona.
