The pastries were pretty good, not overly sweet. The Le Royal had a nice strong chocolate flavor, the hazelnut cream on top paired really well with the chocolate mousse plus the crunchy layer which made the whole cake slice very enjoyable. Blueberry danish was also good even though I wish the bread was a little less dense. Mushroom danish was quite savory. I’ll definitely come back to try more stuff next time I’m in the area.

Excellent patisserie with a beautiful shop setup. The entremets were outstanding, and both the pecan and pistachio danish were favorites. A minor note: the cream filling was a bit heavy in the standard croissant, and the rose/matcha croissant could benefit from a touch more sweetness and less cream. Highly recommend visiting this spot!

A rare find – a true French patisserie, with perfect pasties and good coffees.
We come here whenever we are in the area.
Today’s croissant was delicious.
The passion fruit pastry makes you think of Hawaii ;albeit it is bit too sweet for me)
Located inside a luxury gift shop/ decor shop.

Had the rose filed croissant and it was delicious but was hoping for a stronger flavor profile. The day we went it was one staff member running the front and it was pretty packed in there. I wish there was more seating available it’s two tables in the store and two out front but everything was packed and a very small area very over stimulating!

There was a big line for this bakery at the LaJolla Wine and Arts festival. They had set up in front of their shop. Everything looked so delicious, and beautiful too. And they were so delicious! I especially like the salted caramel tart.

Omg this is my favorite place in La Jolla! The pastries are so beautiful and creative. I highly recommend the chocolate almond croissant. The staff and owners are beyond nice. This is the perfect place to buy gifts too as they have a wide selection of clothing and home items. It is truly special here and so fun to sit with a friend and have matcha outside.

I didn’t know exactly what to expect going into this little Parisien bakery in the back of a flower shop, but I was honestly blown away. It’s charming and impressive from the second you walk in with its beautiful pastries and sweet atmosphere. The baristas were very nice and attentive to my food allergy, and even gave suggestions. If you’re from San Diego and looking for somewhere new to try, or a visitor stopping by in La Jolla, Parisien Gourmandises should be at the top of your list!

Exceptional French-style pastry — a rare find in San Diego
The croissants are beautifully laminated, with a crisp exterior and delicate buttery layers inside. Balanced flavor, not overly rich or greasy. Truly authentic French craftsmanship.

They are very friendly, and everything looks delicious and appetizing. But the croissants I bought were too hard. I ordered the chocolate and the s’more croissants. Both were too hard. I asked if they made them fresh daily, but I don’t think they were from the same day. It seemed like day old bread. I would not return here…..

Parisien Gourmandises created the most exquisite pastries and birthday cake for my daughter’s first birthday and they completely surpassed our expectations. The cake was not only stunning and exactly what we had envisioned (if not better), but every bite was absolutely delicious. The flavors were refined, balanced, and clearly made with great care and skill.
Every time I visit the café, I’m blown away by the warm and professional atmosphere. The staff consistently greets every guest the moment they walk in, even when the café is bustling. It’s clear that hospitality is a priority here and it shows in every interaction.
I want to especially highlight Sascha. She is truly exceptional. Her knowledge of each pastry is impressive, and you can immediately tell how passionate she is about her work. Her customer service is second to none. If she’s not helping a customer, she’s bussing tables or making sure everything in the café is absolutely perfect. She goes above and beyond every time.
Since COVID, it’s no secret that customer service in many places has taken a hit. But visiting Parisien Gourmandises feels like a blast from the past, a beautiful reminder of what outstanding service, care, and craftsmanship in food look like. From taste to presentation to experience, everything is top notch.
Highly, highly recommend this place. Whether you’re planning a special event or just stopping in for a treat, Parisien Gourmandises is a standout in every way.
