Parish Diner is the kind of spot that feels like a cozy local breakfast place with a touch of Southern comfort. Walking in you immediately get that classic diner vibe — friendly staff, simple décor, and a menu full of familiar favorites that make you feel right at home.

The menu leans on all the breakfast classics you want: fluffy pancakes, omelets packed with toppings, biscuits and gravy that hit the spot, and plenty of hearty plates to kick off your day. What I personally appreciate is how unpretentious the food feels — straightforward, well-executed dishes that don’t try to reinvent the wheel but just deliver comfort and satisfaction.

It’s not fancy, and it’s not trying to be — it’s just good diner food done right, reliable and comforting. If you’re craving a filling breakfast or brunch in a laid-back setting with friendly service, Parish Diner is exactly that kind of place.

Good food, great service. There was a random chicken outside that was very curious. Highly entertaining.

Really good food! Was in town and wanted a more home cooked type meal. Stumbled upon this place by chance. Restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. Food portions were excellent. The prices are extremely reasonable too!

Thats supposed to be counter fried chicken with white gravy, I dont know what’s on it smells bad. The “sweet corn” was served hot and rotten! Dish was dropped then repackaged and sold to me in 3 bags. When I asked for a refund the owner “Chad” told me “dont worry about it” didn nothing to rectify the issue.

I ordered the veggie omelette with raisin bread and grits. I would just like to say the parish Diner which was formerly par 3 used to be the spot to go and eat, where the food was delicious. My food tasted old and smelly. I had to send it back. I usually never send food back but I could not stand the smell and taste of anything except the raisin toast bread and the grits (portion size was very small at an over charged price) that were surprisingly good. The waitress was super nice and took care of everything by taking the food back. I really wish I could give this a five star. I will give it a go one more time when I visit chalmette again and hope that my food taste fresh. I gave the atmosphere a four-star because I feel it needs some updating.

I’ve been living in “the parish” for 3 years and I’ve never dined at The Parish Diner until today. The food was bussin’. Cheese grits were on point, biscuit soft and fluffy, and my oldest daughter order the fried chicken tenders and the batter and crispness was perfection. We basically ordered the 1 egg platters, 3 tenders with mac and a pancake side. Everything was 5 stars, except for the mac and cheese which was good but nothing to write about. Overall the breakfast and service here is the best in the area.

This laid-back local diner offers a diverse Cajun menu and serves breakfast all day.

With ample seating and friendly service, the unassuming building hides surprisingly good food with generous portions.

Prices are very budget-friendly too.

This is my second attempt at this restaurant. I have been to the other restaurants in this group, Charlie’s in violet, and kitchen table and usually have outstanding food. Unfortunately this location doesn’t hold up to the other two.

The roast beef poboy I had the first time tasted burnt. This time, the gravy or meat tasted like it came from a can and even had a weird texture. My friend even said he could smell that from where he was sitting. It was inedible so I asked for something else. I ordered the oyster poboy. That too was Disgusting. They cooked the oysters so long you couldn’t chew them at all.
Being a chef, I give a lot of grace to kitchens/staff and forgive a lot, but this was so bad, that something definitely needs to change for the better at this location.

The other items we ordered were ok, the onion rings fried perfectly, and the shrimp poboy was ok.
My friend was from Phoenix, so this was a really disappointing experience.

We were looking for a place to eat when we were done with a paddlewheel cruise. The parking in and around the quarter was crazy so we drove a little and ended up here. It was really, really good. I had the red beans and rice, cornbread and gumbo. Sorry I didn’t get pics of the others food, they were all hungry. But it was all good! Great prices. The server was nice and attentive. This is the place to go.
