We ordered the traditional and the Bianca. I went to Italy years ago and this reminded me of the pizza I had there. It was sauced and lightly sprinkled with cheese, perfecto. The crust is so good and crispy.
The young lady who took our order was so sweet and answered our questions. You could see the chef flipping the dough in the kitchen, which was cool. They also were picking fresh basil from a plant to use for the top of their pizza.
We will be back!
And last but not least, that home kitchen warm feeling in my gut. It gives me early childhood vibes. This kind of pizza may not be for someone looking dough off the back of a semi-truck, this pizza is more likely to be for someone whose expecting there pizza guy to go himself and get the ingredients.
As a former New Jersey native, I’m picky about my pies… and Parcheggio is the best in the area. I’ve been a loyal fan for 4 years, and while they’ve moved to a great new spot on Laurens Road, the elite quality hasn’t changed.
The Highlights:
The Food: The Pinky Tuscadero (vodka sauce) and Rosalita are absolute game-changers. Fresh, gourmet ingredients and authentic NY-style crust.
Seating: Cozy dine-in area available, but it fills up fast!
Parking Pro-Tip: The main lot is tight, but there is plenty of overflow parking at the nearby Walgreens or adjacent plazas.
Don’t overthink it: if you want the best pizza in South Carolina, this is the spot. ✨
First and foremost, the pizza at Parcheggio Pizza is absolutely AMAZING. The crust is exactly what you want in a high-end pie: light and airy with a slight chew and that perfect, satisfying crunch. The toppings are high quality, and the addition of fresh basil provides a great flavor bonus.
However, there are a few things to know about the experience before you go:
Super Casual Vibe: The establishment has a very functional, almost fast-food-like atmosphere. Don’t expect a full-service restaurant experience; for instance, even the napkins are located in a dispenser at the front of the shop.
Drink Selection: Options are limited to bottled drinks only. There is no alcohol (beer or wine) served on-site.
Strict Menu Policy: They operate with a “no nonsense” approach to their craft—there are no substitutions of ingredients and no half-and-half options for added toppings.
Cost: This is not cheap pizza! A 16” pie will run you about $30. But we’re NOT talking national franchise quality pizza. This is the good stuff!
The only reason for the 4-star rating is the dining space. We live across town, and taking this pizza home would be an absolute insult to the food; it is truly meant to be eaten while it’s fresh and hot.
