We decided to try a variety of small plates to share for CRAZY HAPPY HOUR, ordering the hummus, bruschetta plate, and duck fat fries. Everything was incredible, but there were definitely two stars of the show: the BBQ Pork Sliders and the Chicken ‘n Waffles. The sliders were hands-down the best thing we ate all night, closely followed by the chicken and waffles.
To top it all off, the service was fantastic. Jax was our server and he was incredible throughout the entire meal, making sure we had everything we needed. We will absolutely be returning soon!
I took the time to speak to the manger so that she knew of all the issues. She asked that we come back, she was very nice and polite. Unfortunately, the service was so off-putting, not sure if we will be back.
My family ate here on a Sunday after church and we were very satisfied. My picky husband ordered the grilled romaine wedge salad with the salmon added and he really liked it. The salmon strip was large and he said the food was filling. I ordered the pork belly Benedict and really enjoyed it. The pork belly was thick, big and tender. It was a great choice. We also ordered the mimosa flight which I thought was a good price for a flight. The flight came with cranberry, orange juice and pineapple juice but you could also sub any out for grapefruit juice. My son ordered the two eggs breakfast from the kids menu and it came with SO much food for only $6! Everything was tasty and I would definitely come back for lunch or dinner
Their serving portions are pretty large! The avocado toast was fancy-schmancy, with not only the avocado, but topped with arugula, chili oil, and paprika egg, with potatoes on the side! I would say that the toast did get a bit soggy under all the toppings, but otherwise, quite filling. For the grilled cheese and tomato bisque I loved the focaccia bread and the tomato bisque was YUMMY and creamy, although I can’t say that I loved the cheese very much. Might be a bit picky because brunch foods aren’t usually my thing BUT would definitely come back to try their dinner menu items.
I hate having to update reviews of places and give them lower scores, but you can thank staff for that.
I had enjoyed it so much, I went back to Parallel around 2:10 PM on Saturday, August 3. The hostess at the front desk was pretty cold, and proceeded to make us wait for a table for quite a while as she did something. No “I’m sorry, I’ll get to you soon.”
There were many empty tables with table settings, the place was not busy. She didn’t call anyone. She just made us stand there.
Then, without apologizing, she took us to our table. It was weird.
Our waitress was absolutely lovely, but this hostess left a bad taste in my mouth
*****
SERVICE:
I really enjoyed this place, staff was lovely, they have really nice kids as waiters, and they were happy to answer questions.
**Update from 8/3**
our waitress was a brunette, and I’m sorry I didn’t get her name because she was absolutely wonderful, and so accommodating.***
Also, my food was delicious.
APPETIZERS: The wedge salad was surprisingly flavorful.
I got the deviled eggs and bacon lollipops.
The deviled eggs were OK, I feel like they weren’t that interesting, but the bacon lollipops were delicious and tender. I think maybe they expect you to eat the eggs and bacon together, and that would definitely compensate for the lack of flavor in the eggs.
MAIN:
I got the pork belly Eggs Benedict and that was wonderful! I do wish that had better timed our food coming out. We were still eating when the Main course arrived. They had told us when it was coming, so we said, “OK,” as I didn’t really feel like we had a choice. My Benedict sat there for a while, and by the time I started eating it, it was a bit cold, sadly. That was the only bummer.
My friend got some type of egg dish, I can’t remember what it was, but she liked it.
***Update from 8/3**
I LOVE eggs Benedict so I got the salmon Benedict dish, I’ve had it in so many restaurants, and my oh my, was this a surprising disappointment!
The salmon was overcooked, and super salty.
Either give people regular salmon that’s cooked, or give them raw salmon. Cooking smoked salmon was a very unwelcome surprise. SOOOO salty!
The fried pickles were delicious. They were juicy, and crunchy, the outside was nice and crispy, and there was a creamy cool sauce that really just balanced everything out.
So good!.****
DRINK:
Not bottomless, but they have a good deal with the flights of mimosas or other drinks. I got the bourbon mimosas. I didn’t love the blueberry, but the other two flavors were great.
I would definitely be back. Just fix your timing with how Food comes out, guys!
8/3** and tell the hostess to fix her attitude. She’s the first person people encounter.
The service was great when he was around. Water glasses sat empty for 10-15 min with nothing else to drink. We were a large group but bottles of water weren’t offered to be left on the table until we were leaving.
The atmosphere was light and pleasant. Definitely a place for couples but not good for an intimate outing.
Their bourbon selection is too notch and their bartenders know what they are doing when making cocktails. Definitely a place to go for drinks before or after dinner.
There were a few spots at the bar and a few customers seated at the tables. There were several tables, including the one on each side of us that remained uncleared with dirty dishes a f old food. We were there for 75 mins and they stayed that way the whole time. It seemed very unorganized. Our server was just ok. The food was just ok, and a mocktail priced the same as a glass of wine is overpriced.
I wanted to love it but didn’t.
