for making a celebration truly unforgettable. Last night, my wife and I dined there to honor not only my birthday, but hers from last August as well, and our August anniversary—a triple celebration that felt especially meaningful after surviving a near-fatal accident that we’re still recovering.
From the moment we were seated, the warmth of the staff was evident. Our server, Maria, asked if we were celebrating anything special, and I shared our story with her. The meal was everything we hoped for—delicious food and the exceptional service that Pappasito’s is famous for. But what happened next made the evening extraordinary: the manager came to our table, having heard our story from Maria. With genuine kindness, the manager took care of our check and thanked us for choosing Pappasito’s
for celebrating a significant occasion.
This dinner was already special, but the thoughtful gestures from Maria and the manager elevated it to something we’ll never forget. I wish I remembered the manager’s name, but his generosity spoke volumes. I enjoyed the snapper tacos, while my wife of 45 years savored the cheese enchiladas. We toasted with a margarita and ended the night with a wonderful dessert.
Thanks to this incredible experience, Pappasito’s
will be a permanent place in our hearts—and on our list of favorite restaurants.
Great management too, just the most incredible lunch (and dinner too with the boxed up leftovers)!
Thank you Chris and your fabulous team – can’t wait to come back when we visit again from the UK!
The staff went above and beyond to ensure our entire party was seated together, moving tables to accommodate us and allowing me to set up décor for my husband’s surprise 40th birthday. The service was exceptional, and our two waitresses were absolutely phenomenal.
I would definitely recommend Pappasito’s and will absolutely be returning with my immediate family of seven. Thank you to the entire team for making the night so special.
Cake – castle top treats
We had 8:00 PM reservations. Arrived at 8:03 and were told “about a 10-minute wait.” Fine. Except it turned into longer than that, and while we’re standing there, we watched another couple walk straight up to the hostess and get seated immediately. No explanation. No apology. Just vibes.
The second we sit down, it’s pushy upsell mode. Special margarita pitch before we can even breathe. Then the server tried to pretend she heard me order queso—which I absolutely did not—and I had to immediately correct her. That set the tone.
From there? Ghost town.
Our tortillas vanished into the void and never came back—another server had to notice and offer more because ours clearly wasn’t paying attention. No check-ins. No refills. Nothing.
Then, magically, right when we’re done eating and ready to leave, our server reappears to offer the first round of refills. Perfect timing… if your goal is to be useless.
We asked for the check. She brought it… and then just stood there chatting with someone who appeared to be an assistant manager directly in front of us, while we waited to pay and leave. Just standing. Talking.
This was our third attempt to give this place a fair shot with service, and the pattern is obvious: if you don’t order queso and margaritas immediately, they couldn’t care less if you die of old age in your chair.
Food is amazing. Always has been.
Service is crap. Always has been.
At some point, the food alone isn’t enough to justify being treated like an upsell target instead of a paying customer.
This was hands-down some of the best service I’ve experienced anywhere in the DFW area. Professional, attentive, and well-led—exactly how hospitality should be done.
When one of our meals came out wrong, he didn’t make excuses, he fixed it instantly. Then Samantha, the manager, personally came by to apologize and make sure everything was perfect. That kind of heart is rare these days.
We were on a double date, and by the end of the night, everyone was smiling, laughing, and a little misty-eyed from how good everything was (those ribs and lamb chops? life-changing). Five stars isn’t enough. This place fed our hearts as much as it did our stomachs. ❤️
