Great burgers and tater tots! We were quickly seated and service was prompt and friendly. Food portions were much larger than we expected for the price. Great value. We were both impressed with how juicy and flavorful the burgers were. Also the veggies were fresh. The dining area is nothing to write home about but the food and service more than mes up for that. Bathrooms clean too.

Stopped here 2 yrs ago while, traveling, still great! Worth the wait to get in! Delicious food, historical displays, friendly staff, great value! Big fluffy pancakes, lg sausage patties, ask for the green chile sauce! They have a breakfast sandwich, just ask for it.

Stopped at the Sweet Shop Restaurant while passing through Raton. We were 15 minutes before closing and they were welcoming and gracious. Green Chili was classic old school with a nice hint of spice. Burgers were hand made with excellent quality beef. The old school chicken salad sandwich on generously buttered and griddled homemade bread was a wonderful take on a classic. Really nice to see an older restaurant that still maintains pride in their food and service. Lots of old time pictures compliment the classic decor that invokes an appreciation of a lost era of American dining.

Sherri was very helpful in helping us order by giving multiple suggestions from her favorites. The red chile is better than the green. Generous portions. Kid friendly.

Let me start off by saying our server Debbie was AMAZING!!!! Never did our coffee get cold. Food was hot fresh and delicious. Homemade bread for my breakfast sandwich, perfectly spiced Chile’ for the stuffed breakfast sopapilla. Excellent portion sizes, prices beyond reasonable. Cannot wait until our kids come to visit so they can enjoy this glorious little shop. 100% recommend. Thank you!!!

Pappa’s Sweet Shop is a must stop! Not only is the staff incredibly kind, the food is AMAZING! Even the pickiest of eaters will find something to love here. From smothered burritos in the best green chili gravy ever to pancakes and cream sodas; Pappa’s has it all. It is also very child friendly; a waiter went above and beyond to make my nephew feel grown up and welcomed. He was so excited to be noticed that he enthusiastically gave many hugs to the staff and they smiled and hugged him right back. They literally made the difference in our entire trip!

What a great find on a roadtrip. We were hungry and making a pit stop in Raton as we drove to Colorado.

From the street it’s very humble and walking in we knew this was a great diner/cafe with humble roots. The pictures on the wall were fascinating dating back many years of the Raton history.

Service was awesome and friendly. Plus, they always kept our drinks filled!

I ordered the Deluxe Frito pie. It came with beans, Fritos, cheese (that was perfectly melted) ground beef and green chile sauce. I’m not a big spicy person and our waitress said it wasn’t too hot. Well, she was right on. It was awesome. Just the right sized portion too.

Great place for a good meal and phenomenal prices!

Most tasteless food ever. Ordered huevos rancheros, no flavor AT ALL. Pancakes crumbled the second I touched them. The reviews were so misleading. There is no “authentic” Mexican food here, so anyone saying that truly does not know what Mexican food should taste like. Left hungrier than when I arrived. Coke with ice was good.

We went here today and almost walked out without our food . We had to wait over an hour and fifteen minutes for our food. The staff was very friendly and we got good service. We were starving by the time we ate so I did not get pics of the food. The food was pretty good. The cinnamon roll was yummy. My only complaint was the wait time. The server said it was due to the to go orders. My point of view is make the wait time for those longer, not the people setting in your restaurant.
