If you judge Pappa’s Pit Stop by its exterior, you might think you’ve accidentally pulled into a retired gas station that now sells questionable bait and VHS tapes. It’s got that perfectly “seen some things” look to it. But don’t let the dingy outside fool you — this place is a full-on flavor oasis hiding in plain sight.
Step inside and it’s like walking into a burger lover’s time capsule. The vibe is welcoming, unpretentious, and exactly what you hope for when you’re craving something greasy in the best possible way.
Now let’s talk smash burgers. These beauties are crispy on the edges, juicy in the middle, and smashed with the kind of confidence that says, “We’ve been doing this a while.” Every bite tastes like someone’s dad perfected it in 1987 and refused to change the recipe — and honestly, respect.

I’m new to the area and drive by this place every day on my way to and from work. I finally stopped in for lunch, and I’m so glad I did. Ordering inside was quick and easy, and my food came out fast.
I got the Philly cheesesteak basket with cheese fries, and it was amazing from the first bite to the last. The fries were hot and fresh with plenty of nacho cheese, and the sandwich had perfectly crispy bread with hot, flavorful Philly cheesesteak inside.
This spot is definitely going to be a family favorite.

I tried the mint rock shake and was very creamy and deliciously minty. The drive-up service was efficient and friendly. There is an outside eating area as pictured below.
My reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the high price of the shake, especially given its small size, which was $6.26 with tax. Considering one can get a whole meal for about $8, I feel that the shake was expensive for the size.

This family owned restaurant is amazing! Sometimes there can be a little bit of a weight, but it is definitely worth it. The bathrooms were clean when we went. It was starting to get close to the closing time in most places the bathroom is one of the first things to get ignored, but not here. The front of house staff were absolutely amazing. The back house and kitchen staff really know their stuff. The Smashburger was crispy and very juicy at the same time and that is hard to do the thoughts that I had with my meal were crispy on the outside and soft in the center my small family and I did not have time for ice cream. Otherwise we would have got that too and I’m sure it’s absolutely amazing. I will definitely be happily recommending this spot!

Decided to stop by and give them a try for a snack on the road. I got the fried mushrooms and onion rings. They were both delicious and so crunchy! Also ordered a Dr pepper, which was flat and tasted off, but other than that, the food was great, and the women were super nice!

Spent almost $9 on a large fry and a root beer float. The fries were good, but the fry container was half empty. Honestly, shouldn’t have bought a rootbeer float because it was no different than one you would make at home. The lady who took our order was nice

Ok here is another must stop place for lunch!! You call drive thru, carry out or eat in. We ordered and sat out side in the back. The atmosphere was great and the food was FANTASTIC AND CHEAP!! FOUR of us and it was $51. Burger and cheese curds, chili cheese dog and cheese curds, Philly cheese steak and cheese curds and Philly cheese steak and fries. Then a shake and three sodas. All COOKED TO ORDER, which means The food was fresh and hot. The waitresses are super quick, extremely friendly, provided great service. I actually went back inside before leaving and giving a much larger tip! You do have to drive a few minutes as its in Sunrise Beach but it will not disappoint!!
