OMG! Excellent new restaurant alert. Papille Gustative in Santa Monica (Ocean Park.) Now, you might think it is not new since technically they have been open for 5 years. But not for dinner, and not with the current ownership and front of the house management. I think they said they have been doing dinner about a couple of months or so. Chef is from Campanile, Mgr from Puglia. It is a quaint little place, not hipster, very comfortable. Nice big tables, quiet ambiance, very small but mighty menu. Outdoor seating as well. They featured a special of Vitello tonnato and we have not had it that good since Piedmonte. A little pasta, some pizza, a couple of mains. The Neapolitan pizza, OMG the best we have had since Italy. I would go back from just this and the Caesar alone. The crust has the perfect chew, just the right crisp, marinara with incredible tomato flavor with just the right amount of acid. It made Mozza look like Pizza Hut. The pastas were also delicious, not homemade “yet” but very high end and perfectly executed. All ingredients are well-sourced and farm to table. The desserts brought us back to Italy – wow we went to town. They were all very traditional, including one that had pistachio custard that was addicting. They made us fresh Zepoles (fried dough.) This place is a diamond in the rough. $30 corkage, wonderful service. On Friday night when we were there it was empty as they are not doing enough marketing. Please go and support them.

The food was very delicious. Finally i had a good cup of coffee that is satisfying. The brunch plate is very flavorful in all aspects. And the signature french toast is truly a special!
Definitely coming back whenever in LA!

We had an amazing dinner at Papille. The pastas were great but the pizza really killed the show. It was very authentic food and the service was extremely friendly. Highly recommended!

Perfect Saturday Brunch with My Aunt
I brought my aunt here for Saturday brunch and we had such a wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in, the rustic, airy atmosphere made us feel immediately relaxed and welcomed.
Our server Marie was absolutely fantastic – warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly throughout our entire meal. She made great recommendations and checked in on us at just the right moments without being intrusive.
The coffee was exceptional – We also tried the salmon Benedict and the waffles and both were outstanding. The Benedict was perfectly executed with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, and the waffle was light, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared.
The farm-to-table commitment really shines through in every dish. You can tell they care about quality ingredients and sustainability, which I appreciate as someone in the wellness space.
The outdoor patio was the perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful Saturday weather, and the overall rustic environment has such a charming, laid-back vibe on Main Street. It’s the kind of place where you want to linger over coffee and conversation.
Papille Gustative is exactly what Main Street Santa Monica does best – delicious, healthy food in a beautiful setting with genuinely great service. Marie made our experience extra special, and I’ll definitely be back!
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality brunch spot that feels both special and approachable. Perfect for catching up with family or friends.

Always a 10/10. The favor is incredible in every single meal — chicken pesto sandwich, french toast, steak and eggs, salads. Hand crafted to perfection, food looks like art. Always come from breakfast and lunch but looks like they just opened for dinner too, want to try soon!

Amazing place with great authentic food. Most of the staff over there know what authentic Italian food is, especially Tony and a few of the chefs, who themselves are Italian. They really understand the needs and restrictions of a customer, and they take extra steps to ensure customer satisfaction. I wish more people knew about this place. Its usually really busy during brunch, but the service remains consistent. I highly recommend this place for people who don’t want to feel bloated after eating a margarita pizza or squid ink linguine.

French cafe with a health-conscious flair. Came here for brunch with some friends and shared a French toast and an omelette with one. We sat outside and our waitress was really chill about letting us hang out while waiting for a late friend. They have a wide variety of smoothies, matches, and coffees. I was quite intrigued by the smoothie with a duck egg but that’ll have to be for another time. There is one single occupant restroom available inside. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Metered street parking is available.

There is no better service available at any price point than this. The dish was served nicely and beyond our expectations. Danny, the server, advised a banana latte, which seemed dubious at first, but turned out to be the finest coffee I’d ever tasted (and I’m from Seattle). Wendy, the cook, came out and gave us a warm welcome. I would certainly recommend the cheese board because it was substantial and each cheese supplied was excellent (and I loved the other sides just as much as the cheese). Awesome!! Highly recommend..

Almost every Sunday, my friends and I enjoy brunch at this amazing place, and we have no desire to look elsewhere because we love it so much!
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the dishes are delicious with high-quality ingredients. A special shoutout to the chef for the arugula salad that accompanies almost every meal—it’s fantastic (personally for me)! The service is incredibly friendly, especially from Lana and Fabrizio, who always go beyond to meet our requests with care and kindness.
We’ve been coming here regularly and plan to keep coming every Sunday! That truly speaks for itself!

You need to eat here. No really. Atmosphere? Check. Great customer service? Check check. Amazing food with great portions? CHECK. I work close by and come here often, either for take out or for work meetings. The food never disappoints , always fresh, large portions and with my favorite vegan/vegetarian options. This place also offers a cozy intimate date night feel that a lot of local places lack, either because they have the sterile corporate vibe or they’re overcrowded. My recommendation would be the fruit bowl with vegan cool whip and organic honey or any bakery item. And if you order lattes you’re going to get those beautiful mugs with the drinks rich in flavor and presentation.
