Ate here 3/11/23. The server was awesome and friendly. She added fun to the experience. The dining room was cozy and had a more upscale feel to it than I was expecting. The fresh rolls (summer rolls) were so delicious and came with a slamming peanut dipping sauce. I had the shrimp pad Thai max spiciness and I really enjoyed the flavor. The heat wasn’t too much for me, but I’m a little more experienced in spicy. The firecracker roll had a great flavor and texture balance. I would definitely recommend for Thai / sushi lovers and would eat there again if I’m back in Beaufort.

I went to Papaya for a girl’s night out this past weekend and our experience was subpar.. After being seated, it took about 15 minutes before our server made it out to our table. We thought it may have been because we sat outside in their cute little courtyard area, but we found the issue to be our server. She was super nice and friendly, but she can’t have been working there long because she had little to no knowledge of the menu. We all asked for water and then, my three friends all asked for a beer. I wanted to try their Lychee Martini, but I was told they were out of the lychee syrup so, I ended up just getting a soda due to their very limited drink menu. We never did receive any waters. We all ordered a couple different items. I got the Crab Rangoon for an appetizer, a Philly Roll, a Papaya Roll, and an order of their Thai Fried Rice to take home. We got the appetizers we ordered fairly quickly, but it took over an hour for us to receive 5 sushi rolls. I understand sushi takes time, but we were one of maybe 5 tables that were in restaurant and 2 of the others left while we were waiting for our food. Come to find out, our server “didn’t see” our rolls behind some pitchers of water so, they’d apparently been sitting there a while. I will say, my food was great. The Crab Rangoon was flavorful and had tons of filling and the Papaya Roll had tempura shrimp inside that was super crunchy, it was definitely my favorite! If I ever go back, I think I’d try to sit at the bar, that way I can avoid the service issues I dealt with on this visit.

Servers don’t seem to know what’s in their own food. I asked if they could describe the flavors of their curries and was told their colors and that some are hotter than others. After taking it home, I didn’t like the curry nor the duck it came with. And I’ve had better California rolls.

Awesome experience! We had a large party but accommodations were made and all dietary restrictions (including vegan) were very easily met. We went with 2 marines who’d just graduated on parris island and they loved it! The atmosphere, staff, accommodations, food and portions were all above and beyond!

Decided to try this on a Sunday evening and was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great suggestions. We got sesame chicken with fried rice along with duck, steamed rice and broccoli covered in a red curry sauce. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

Excellent food, friendly staff and fast service. First time here and we are glad we came. We had spring rolls, which were seriously good; summer rolls, great as well. Sweet basil with chicken and Pad Kee Mao with chicken as well. Both were delicious.
