Great location overlooking the ocean and watching the sunset. Food was good. The fresh catch was exceptional. Loved the cauliflower, goat croquettes, calamari too. Crab artichoke dip didn’t have much crab, but was still good. Potatoes looked amazing but not much flavor. Brie with the mango chutney was good, but Brie would have been far better had it been warmed. We will be going back and trying some of the other dishes too!

All the tapas were super flavorful. The highlights were the garlic shrimp and the cauliflower bites. The drinks were potent as well. The rooftop seating area was perfect for enjoying the food with a nice breeze. The location was great too, right by the shore.

The staff are pleasant, but they dont seem happy. I’m really not impressed with the cleanliness of the tables. The were dirty and sticky. I don”t eat fish but there were several options on the menu. Then I asked if the fries are fried in the same oil they said yes….what? That happened at the last place we ate at and everything tasted fishy. I WOULD NOT recommend this place to any Vegetarians or non-fush eaters. It seems like they do not tell their customers this and the waitress looked at me strangely like I asked her a stupid question…not everyone eats fish, and it ruins the taste of other foods when you fry everything in that same oil….GROSS!!! I definatrly will not be going back. Also the cucumbers in my salad looked old a wilty…not so great. The cost was a little high but if the food was a little more fresh and the tables cleaner it maybe worth it…but not at this point. A big thumbs down!

Food was spot on. Delicious! $9 New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and nice pour. Tapas were all very good! 5 items filled us up even tho plates are small.

After a long day of scuba diving I was hunting for food. I kinda accidentally got beached up in Papa’s Tapas bar in Kona Hawaii. This proved to be a very miraculous choice. I ordered four tapas based on the bartenders recommendation and I must say… wow… they were all delicious and although the portions where rather big my plates emptied in no time. Soooo good…
Try also “The lighten up” or “Ginger Pama Inu” cocktail, they are both delicious.
Very friendly service! Great ambiente and seaside view. Papa’s Tapas gets five stars from me – I am coming back.

We ate here for the first time last weekend and it was AMAZING! I have Celiac Disease and my husband eats gluten-free and we are also vegan. They take food allergies very seriously and it’s definitely Celiac safe. The garden section was perfect for us and I cannot stress how delicious the food was. The service was top notch, including the bar tender and the hostess! Great atmosphere, amazing food and friendly service. Can’t wait to go back!!

So pleased with this tapas bar! Every detail was thoughtfully executed. Everything we ordered was delicious, our favorite being the braised pork. Cocktails were also perfect. Definitely visit them! Loved this place! We ordered nearly everything on the menu for a party of 5, and it was the perfect meal. Highly recommend the ceviche, cauliflower, pork, brussel sprouts, tiramisu. The only critique would be the bread/crostinis for the cheese dishes was not great. Dave was our server, bartender, manager, guru and absolutely FANTASTIC. Plus, you can’t beat the patio with the ocean view.

This place has an excellent atmosphere. A relaxing setup with beautiful ocean views. We enjoyed trying a bunch of small dishes and relaxing with some tasty drinks. The cauliflower bites were delicious!

Mixed bag for certain. Drinks were fine and the goat cheese croquettes were the best. Then it was middle of the road for some of the tapas, the shrimp being on the better end and the unsalted, unflavored, bland potatoes on the other. The pork stew thing was also quite poor. Along with the 4 tiny tiny pieces of prosciutto for the board I was overall disappointed. So was everyone else.
