Very good Neapolitan pizza close to city center. Their soups are outstanding, I don’t think I ever had as good minestrone as this, staff is very friendly and atmosphere of the place feels authentic. I can only recommend. Also the prices are super friendly given the location, especially if you go for lunch menu. And a bit surprisingly, even plzeň was up to the standards.

Ambience and service is good, nothing to write home about but perfectly okay, no issues there. (Although I’m not a fan of scamming tourists with “service is not included” on the bill.)
I started with what was supposed to be pappa al pomodoro but most certainly was not one. This was a classic liquid tomato soup, nothing even remotely to do with pappa al pomodoro apart from the use of tomatoes – see the picture attached to the review. This was the first red flag since whoever is running the kitchen has zero idea what they do. The soup itself was quite alright, a bit watery but otherwise fine.
For the main course I had lasagna which was okay, but also flat in terms of flavour. It mostly tasted of mozzarella with very little ragú taste (it was there, I saw it, it just didn’t have much of flavour). Portion was quite big but since I wasn’t really enjoying it, it didn’t matter much.
Dessert of gratin di lamponi was very good and saved the day a bit.
Overall, the food wasn’t bad but certainly did not make for a memorable experience or anything that would make me want to come back. There’s plenty of better Italian restaurants in Prague that deliver better food and even know the difference between pappa al pomodoro and crema di pomodoro 🙂

Papaiolo easily climbed up to the top of my Italian culinary experience chart , yes of all time. The pomodoro soup was excellent and thick, the shrimp pizza had fresh flavors and the gnocchi was exactly what we were expecting. The wines to top it off were also excellent . We made reservations though which helped. Strongly recommended if you like some Italian on your Prague visit.

Me and my wife tried a carbonara and a Capricciosa pizza. Both were great!
The pasta dishes were a bit on the less side, but that could be just us. The flavours were great!
Pizza had a perfect bake and even the dough tasted sublime.
The service was very kind and I recommend booking in advance for dinner.

We stumbled across Papaiolo when looking for a lunch spot and we are so glad we did, I ordered a pizza and a glass of white wine, the wine was splendid but the pizza was perfection!! The thick crust with the flavoursome pizza was amazing, no oils needed! The scissors were just the cherry on top, super convenient and a bit of fun! Would 1000% recommend

Service is friendly without hovering, wine list is fairly priced, and the bill still made us smile. If you want real Italian food and not tourist traps near the bridge, book this place. Already planning my next visit. 10/ thumbs up!

Last time I was in Prague, I wanted to go here and never had the opportunity. When I arrived to Prague from New York, this was the first place I came to eat. I came specifically for the pizza and it did not disappoint. It is very comfortable seating with views of the street and open air indoor seating. They have a small bar and a wide variety of Italian style menu items like pastas and pizzas. They have a happy hour special from 4 to 5. I ordered the margarita pizza and two glasses of Prosecco. It was a lovely dining experience and I will definitely come back next time. I am Prague.

We stumbled by this place near our hotel and stepped in to see if we need reservations. When we walked in we were immediately overcome with the most wonderful smell of delicious smelling food. We first order fabulous salads then Pizza. We were stunned by cutting pizza with a large scissors. We laughed and got a kick out of the experience. The important thing is everything was delicious. I would highly recommend this place.
