We usually come here every bingo night. My fiancé and I love the loaded fries the most!! Their onion rings is also one of my favorite. It’s always a good time with good food! Highly recommended.

The absolute worst barbecue i have eaten in quite a long time. And the service was basically non-existant. I tried calling in an order to pick up, and after dialing and hearing a busy signal (who doesn’t have call waiting in this day and age.) for over 45 minutes, decided to just drive the 20 minutes one way and place the order in person, all the while trying to still get an answer on the phone to no avail. When I got to the restaurant it was a little busy, but not uncommonly so. I said to the hostess that there phone must be off the hook, when she acknowledged that it was taken off the hook because ” it wouldn’t stop ringing”; and never bothered to put it back on the hook! I placed my order to pick up, and asked how long should I wait before coming back, was told 10-15 minutes. I gave them 25 minutes. Needless to say when I went back after nearly half an hour I asked about my order and she said she was just back in the kitchen and they hadn’t even began to put the order on to cook. She said come back in 20 minutes. Long story short, my reciept shows i put the order in and paid for it at 6:12 pm. I ended up getting our order at 7:05 pm. I placed the order for two full slabs of baby back ribs with sides. When I get all the way home north of gannt, I realize that they dont use or give barbecue sauce, and were just plain smoked full size pork ribs, not baby backs. No flavor, just smoked meat. The hostess never once said anything along the line as ” sorry its taking so long” or anything else that would be a courtesy to a patron. I will never eat at this place again and I advise all human beings to stay away from there, far away.

Delicious BBQ, generous portions, and good service. I had the pork platter with coleslaw and Mac N Cheese, and it was excellent! The pork was tender and flavorful. I enjoyed a little original sauce and then the some sweet sauce, I liked them both. A spicy version would be a nice addition, but I have no complaints because my meal was great. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. Our server did a great job taking care of us. If you like quality BBQ, you will enjoy Golden Rule. I am glad we decided to dine here tonight.

**Restaurant Review: Golden Rule Barbecue, Andalusia, Alabama**
Golden Rule Barbecue in Andalusia, Alabama, left us questioning how this place remains in business. The quality of the food was shockingly poor, and it was evident that little, if anything, is cooked in-house.
Starting with the brisket—or what was supposed to be brisket—it was nothing more than thinly sliced roast beef, clearly cut on a slicing machine. It lacked the tenderness and rich flavor that you’d expect from properly smoked brisket. This was a major letdown for any barbecue lover.
The ribs were even worse. They had a consistency that was almost like dog food, mushy and unappetizing. In fact, I wouldn’t feel comfortable feeding them to my dogs, let alone serving them to guests.
The sides didn’t fare much better. The coleslaw tasted straight out of a container, with no freshness or zest. The beans, surprisingly, were the best thing we tried, but that’s not saying much. They too seemed pre-made, but at least they had some semblance of flavor.
Overall, Golden Rule Barbecue is a place to avoid. With food that seems mass-produced and a clear lack of care in preparation, it’s hard to understand how they keep their doors open. If you’re looking for authentic barbecue in Andalusia, you’d do well to look elsewhere.

The sweet tea is really good along with everything that we ordered. Service was fantastic as well, glad that we stopped here to eat lunch on the way back to Georgia from our trip in Florida. The restaurant has been around since 1891 and their price is reasonable.
