Beep; Boop Beep!
We were looking for a new option for dinner tonight and google pointed us to Papa Nick’s Pasta & Pizza. We would never have found this spot on our own; it was fantastic. Pretty sure the French fries were hand cut. Healthy portion, hearty cuts and perfectly seasoned and cooked. Typically we don’t do meatballs on our pizza but the boss-lady was feeling it tonight and the universe smiled on us. They cut up their homemade meatballs for use in the pizza. We also had onions and fresh cut mushroom. So good. The crust was different than all of the typical Chicago/New York style. It was a little more formed, not quite so floury, but yet a great taste. Service was friendly and attentive. Great first experience.

Enjoy eating here, friendly staff and generally great food. Kids like drawing directly on the paper table covers. Food is hot and fast. Prices are reasonable. Their homemade bread was delicious. The house dressing they serve with salads was outstanding! The only reason I have a 4 star vs 5 star, is the interior needs a little help. The ceiling tiles have multiple water spots, the decor is dated, and it seems like everything could use a thorough deep cleaning. Our table was so uneven and rocking I had to jigger-rig a leveler out of paper menus to make so our kids didn’t rock the table.

The staff was very friendly. We tried a few things. The pizza was a medium white pizza with sausage on half. Not that good. The dough tasted like it was a couple days old and was soggy had no taste. And for $18 it should be good. The Zita with meat Sauce was good but was watery. The cheese ravioli in pink sauce was good. We never received bread with our dinner and it said bread served with dinners. Another table was complaining about that too. It was a Thursday night at dinner time and it wasn’t busy

The Fruitville Rd. location is a favorite of ours, even before when they were in the old fast food location on Beneva Rd.
The staff is always friendly and will joke around with you. Not your typical aloof waitstaff. I got chastised if I showed up without my then 6 year old. (That lasted for about 4 years.) Now that he’s a teenager, they don’t even recognize him.
The food is always top quality and servings are good-sized. Dessert prices, like everywhere else, are a bit high but you make tiramisu at home if you want. Plenty of specials and the calzones are huge. We love it.
And the fresh, hot bread with every meal? So good.
Plenty of room for the wheelchair & walker crowd to get around, the aisles are very wide.

This is the third time I’ve visited this restaurant. The food is good. Although the kitchen is very inconsistent With custom orders. It has a 1950s decor vibe meaning it needs updating.I’m feeling Retirement is close for the owner.
The service is also less than attentive.
Awarded one Yum on a scale of three.

For many years now Papa Nicks has consistently served great pizza, pasta, and cold beer! I love their Eggplant Parmesan. A great local place that we all need to support.

Very nice atmosphere, the food was delicious, management asked if we enjoyed our meal, and the highlight was our server, who was simply delightful!
and, in geniusly they have figured out the plastic straw dilemma by serving drinks that have pasta straws!!!
Highly recommended, ask for Madeline.
