Been a while since I’ve had Papa Murphy’s but we decided to try it when passing through on vacation. It was a fail even for our kids. Flavor was lacking. Stuffed pizza was seriously dry. Needed way more sauce. Had good memories of their pizza in college days but not sure I’ll order from one again.

I have been ordering here since you opened. Tonight I ordered papa’s favorite and a meat lovers gluten free. Baked according to the directions. Both pizzas were very disappointing, no flavor, crust tasted like cardboard, the toppings were chopped so fine you couldn’t tell what they were, very little cheese, and tasteless sauce. Certainly not worth 50 bucks! Don’t know if i will go back. ☹️

My mistake as I didn’t realize from website that everything is to be baked at home. Ordered online. Got there early. After a while they asked my name as they were busy before. That person was making a pizza. Said it was mine. Asked why they were making now when I ordered early online. Said walk-ins have priority. I didn’t like that. After following their instructions for baking at home, it was a huge disappointment. To be expected since it’s not cooked in a proper pizza oven. No atmosphere in store at all. It was probably cheaper than getting a normal store baked pizza but not positive. I don’t think the ability to bake it at home outweighs the poor presentation & bland taste compared to a good properly baked pizza in a store. Obviously, won’t go back.

Wow! It took one guy 25 minutes to make 3 pizzas. 2 pepperoni and a stuffed. Seriously, I timed him makimg the last pepperoni and it was over 7 minutes. The manager in the back doing I dunno what while this poor kid had a line of orders layed out. I’m just shook, I’ve worked in food service and this is just unacceptable. Next time I’m going to domino’s and I bet my pizza would be done and COOKED in the same time.

February 2026: It has been a very long time and I am very happy to report that things have changed dramatically since the last time we tried Papa Murphy’s here in Cortez. New signage, much cleaner kitchen and service area, very professional person behind the counter, and a Big Murph the weight I remember so well. It looks great. Can’t wait to get it into the oven. But I am a Papa Murphy’s fan to begin with and am just glad this new owner and management got its act together. YUM!
Previous: It is my understanding that this operation has a new owner who has made questionable decisions. At this point, can no longer say this is a good place at all: Closes at the drop of a hat due to being unprepared. Does not accept the weekly specials by the national chain such as the ones on Tuesdays and Fridays; not generally friendly to folks who order online that take advantage of online deals. Has been looking less and less clean. I predict this won’t last long: Either they will get their act together or will soon be closing. A pity. I love the chain.
