We had an amazing meal at Papa Marco’s Kabobs, and everything about the experience was outstanding. We ordered the beef and lamb shawarma plate, which came with rice and warm pita bread, and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was flavorful, well seasoned, and cooked perfectly.
The sides really elevated the meal. The hummus was smooth and rich, the baba ghanoush had great depth and smokiness, and the toum garlic sauce was incredible—bold, creamy, and addictive. Everything worked beautifully together and felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared.
As a wonderful surprise, we were also treated to complimentary baklava for dessert, which was the perfect sweet finish to an already excellent meal. That extra touch of hospitality really stood out.
Fantastic food, generous portions, and genuinely warm service. Papa Marco’s Kabobs is a place we’ll absolutely be returning to. Highly recommended.

Before we even ate we were welcomed in and immediately got a table. The girl at the front was so kind to us and treated us like family. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. Without us asking someone came over and gave us some baklava for us(which was also delicious). I he restaurant was also beautiful.

This is the best place in Lake County and maybe the midwest. The lunch specials are great and inexpensive. Came here often for work lunch but retired. Have not been here for at least a year as I don’t live nearby. Still the same great food. Marlene the owner is the greatest.

The owner & his wife established a thriving restaurant by word of mouth testimonials of how amazing the food was!
The owner graciously accommodated our elderly mother and guest with several food allergies. What a treat! He treated us like family by welcoming us in.
Everything about the meal was delightful.
Highly recommend this restaurant above any other in the area, definitely worth a drive off the interstate!

Don’t get the lamb kebab, it was very chewy and you get wayyyyy too many peppers.
The gyro sauce just takes like plain yogurt, no garlic or flavor really. The other sauces were bland too.
Everything was pretty pricey for no discernible reason (dolmas were $4 for 3 little ones and kebab was $16 with not very much meat).
The owners are pretty nice and hospitable though.

i’ve come here a few times, and it’s a gem!!! my boyfriend and i adore this place, and when we’re home from college this is our favorite dinner date. they’re so incredibly hospitable, warm, and never fail to make each time better than the other. amazing portions, too!
i’m unable to eat the baklava, because of an allergy, but it’s always so warming to see them bring it out at the end of your meal. i’m so grateful to have a person to enjoy it for the both of us!
