Edit: I called back and they claim “2 cups of cheese” went onto the pizza, and the employee on the phone swears she did it correctly. But I have never had a pizza come out like this before.
I mistakenly thought I ordered using a different coupon code before, to which I admitted was my mistake, but then she tell me “well you thought you ordered 3 mediums, but you got 2 larges” as if that changes anything about the sorry excuse of a pizza I got.
I just wanted pizza on New Years. Always go local for pizza. I’ve lived in 3 states and they NEVER get it anywhere I’ve lived.
I asked for double mushroom and I may as well just be giving them free money. Whats the point of asking for double anything if they just put the same amount? I cant even ask for triple of the same topping to make sure they give me what I want.
If anyone from this location is reading, PLEASE actually do double of the same topping when people ask for it or you’re essentially skimming money off the top when people ask for it. I keep ordering from here because the pizza is actually good again, but these kinds of sneaky practices are ridiculous.
On a large pizza, double mushroom shouldn’t mean 5 dinky mushrooms per slice…
Tonight….. the food was great and they didnt miss a beat with quality. The failure tonight comes from the customer service department. From what seemed to be the manager on duty, Christopher. He answered my call dismissively, as if he did not want to take the order. I ordered at 10:35pm, 25 minutes to close. I’ve experienced this situation many times in my tenure as a manager. Being young and inexperienced, I typically would get upset when people ordered late, near closing time. But as I became accustomed to the pizza business, situations like this are inevitable and learned to embrace these opportunities.
Most of the time it was a family that had a long day and the mom or dad just needed to have a quick easy dinner, and relied on the local pizzeria to deliver this service in their time of need.
As Christopher took my order, he seemed to not know the menu very well (which is fine), and became agitated as I began to order a few items. He stated that they werent delivering and I could only so pick up. Again, this was fine, i just needed to feed the family. He said the pick up time would be at least 25 minutes.
I figured they were busy, so I took my time getting up there and arrived between 10 and 15 minutes after 11pm. He called me at about 5 to 8 minutes after 11pm and asked if I was still getting the order. I stated that I was only a few minutes away.
I walked inside and he quickly asked if I was Dan as he was counting his drawer to close. I said “yes that’s me”. He says to me, “finally I can close, it’s 25 minutes after close”. I was taken back, because I would never say something like that to one of my customers.
He stated the amount owed, I paid in cash. He gave me my food without providing a receipt. Which seemed kind of sketchy, so I asked for the receipt, and he says “yuppp” and then prints the receipt, then snatches it off the machine and hands it to me. I told him thank you and have a good night.
He replies in a snarky tone saying “I will now that I can close my drawer and go home after staying open after close for you.” Then rushes to the door as I’m walking out and says says something else to outloud, pertaining to him being upset that he had to stay open for me.
I dont know what was so important for him to do on a Tuesday night in Lorain County, but as a business owner, a prior General Manager Pizza of various pizza shops and a customer, his attitude, lack of personality, and customer service skills is not what brings people back, nor represents what your company is about. I’ve had many great experiences, but this was one of the most rude ones I’ve ever had.
Done with Papa Johns!
Well, 5 rolls around, then 6, then 7…finally our order arrives. No communication, apology, anything. Upon telling the driver why we refused the order, he simply said “yeah, we are a few hours behind.”
Meanwhile I am trying to call the store, keep being rolled over to the hold music. I literally called 10 times to no avail. I finally called Pizza Hut as my guests and kids were starving and they delivered within 30 minutes.
After all this, I check my bank account and Papa Johns charged me for food I refused, since it was over 2 hours late. AND, they charged me MORE than what the original bill was. So now I have to file a fraud dispute.
Horrible, horrible, awful experience.
