FOOD
i mean if the pictures don’t make you drool, tasting them in person will. you cannot go wrong with a dang thing here. everything tastes from scratch, and the pasta always tastes freshly made! also for the salad that comes with your meal, the creamy italian is THE move. so yummy. great selection of menu items too — from chicken, to pasta, veal, to pizza. you can’t go wrong with anything! also, the portions are ginormous, so you definitely feel like you’re getting your monies worth!
SERVICE
always a 10/10. we had Melissa as our server and she was friendly, attentive, took the time to run through a few menu items with us and made sure to check on us throughout our meal. make sure to ask to sit in her section, you won’t be disappointed!
PARKING
lots of parking as the restaurant is in a shopping center. plenty of close spots!
AMBIANCE
just transports you to italy, and you feel like you’re in nonna’s kitchen. you just instantly feel like family, and they even have their own family pictures on the wall. so very cool to see!
i always look forward to my next meal at Papa Gianni’s. highly recommend stopping by on your way to tahoe or leaving tahoe. it’s a little gem in cameron park, and you won’t be disappointed stuffing your belly here!
The meal began with their garlic bread, which was simply divine. Each bite was perfectly toasted, with just the right amount of garlic and butter—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s a must-try for any garlic lover.
We followed that with the garlic oil & pasta, and the flavors were impeccable. The pasta was cooked to perfection, with the garlic oil adding a delightful richness that brought everything together.
The linguine with clams was equally impressive, featuring fresh clams and a sauce that was light yet bursting with flavor. Every mouthful was a testament to the skill and dedication of the kitchen.
To finish, we indulged in their cannoli, which was the perfect sweet ending. The crispy shell filled with creamy ricotta was a heavenly combination that left us wanting more.
Overall, Papa Gianni’s offers a dining experience that is nothing short of spectacular. The quality of the food, the attentive service, and the cozy ambiance make it a top choice for Italian food in Folsom. Highly recommended!
I’ve eaten here several times, for lunch and dinner. The food is always great.
This restaurant is usually crowded, even at lunchtime, so call ahead for a reservation.
There are lots of fancy new Italian restaurants in the area, and I’ve tried those as well. In my opinion, they can’t compare. This is classic, homemade Italian food, with reasonable prices and large servings.
Good sized portions. Creamy Italian dressing was very good! Garlic bread was just ok. Booths are nice; for people who are smaller. Big folks must sit at tables for sure.
Service was pretty good; family run business atmosphere. Dishes removed promptly, water remained full.
Prices were appropriate.
The pasta is ALWAYS hot and tasty.
Prepare to bring home leftovers, because the portions are too much for an average person.
The service is outstanding!!!!!!!
It is always a treat to go to Papa’s.
Great Food, Great Service, you cannot go wrong.
I am going to cut this short, I just made myself HUNGRY!!!!!
