The wife and I have been here a few times and it was awesome. Tonight was much different unfortunately. My clam linguine was mostly good, but a little salty. My wife’s lasagna was terrible as it had way too much salt in the sauce. Our waitress swaped it out with spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs were actually rubbery. Their bread that they bring to the table is terrible as well. I don’t think we’re going to go back for a while.

my family and i have been going to papa gianni’s for over two decades, and this place continues to provide excellent service and incredible food every single time! let’s dive in:

FOOD
i mean if the pictures don’t make you drool, tasting them in person will. you cannot go wrong with a dang thing here. everything tastes from scratch, and the pasta always tastes freshly made! also for the salad that comes with your meal, the creamy italian is THE move. so yummy. great selection of menu items too — from chicken, to pasta, veal, to pizza. you can’t go wrong with anything! also, the portions are ginormous, so you definitely feel like you’re getting your monies worth!

SERVICE
always a 10/10. we had Melissa as our server and she was friendly, attentive, took the time to run through a few menu items with us and made sure to check on us throughout our meal. make sure to ask to sit in her section, you won’t be disappointed!

PARKING
lots of parking as the restaurant is in a shopping center. plenty of close spots!

AMBIANCE
just transports you to italy, and you feel like you’re in nonna’s kitchen. you just instantly feel like family, and they even have their own family pictures on the wall. so very cool to see!

i always look forward to my next meal at Papa Gianni’s. highly recommend stopping by on your way to tahoe or leaving tahoe. it’s a little gem in cameron park, and you won’t be disappointed stuffing your belly here!

Papa Gianni’s in Folsom is an absolute gem for anyone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

The meal began with their garlic bread, which was simply divine. Each bite was perfectly toasted, with just the right amount of garlic and butter—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s a must-try for any garlic lover.

We followed that with the garlic oil & pasta, and the flavors were impeccable. The pasta was cooked to perfection, with the garlic oil adding a delightful richness that brought everything together.

The linguine with clams was equally impressive, featuring fresh clams and a sauce that was light yet bursting with flavor. Every mouthful was a testament to the skill and dedication of the kitchen.

To finish, we indulged in their cannoli, which was the perfect sweet ending. The crispy shell filled with creamy ricotta was a heavenly combination that left us wanting more.

Overall, Papa Gianni’s offers a dining experience that is nothing short of spectacular. The quality of the food, the attentive service, and the cozy ambiance make it a top choice for Italian food in Folsom. Highly recommended!

I love this restaurant. The food is wonderful, the service is always top notch.
I’ve eaten here several times, for lunch and dinner. The food is always great.
This restaurant is usually crowded, even at lunchtime, so call ahead for a reservation.
There are lots of fancy new Italian restaurants in the area, and I’ve tried those as well. In my opinion, they can’t compare. This is classic, homemade Italian food, with reasonable prices and large servings.

First off our server Melissa was awesome. She was so well versed in the menu and her recommendations were spot on. I ordered everything she recommend. We recently went to Rome and Florence Italy. I could have saved time and money and ate here. I can imagine this place gets crazy based on the quality of the food. So we had a late lunch. Everything was so delicious. The chicken picatta, raviolis, puttnesca, were ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. However, the piece de resistance was the tiramsu. It was seriously the best I have ever had. We drove from Roseville just to eat here. It was worth it!

I would definitely return here. I had chicken (because the veal had run out) and it was so flavorful and tender. My mom had a shrimp Alfredo that she liked as well. Unfortunately for my daughter, she ordered a quite flavorless clam linguine. Everything else was great – garlic bread and included green salads. The creamy Italian dressing was amazing. Our server was awesome. Everything was reasonably priced. It was an enjoyable meal.

Linguine and clams are my go-to dish. Unfortunately the wine sauce was flat, thin and not flavorful enough. The clams were good but they added canned minced clams over the top ruining the dish. I could not get the canned clam taste from my mouth. Beware!

I came here after good reviews on next door when people asked for recommendations. I had mixed feelings about the food. Some were great and some were not as great as I would have expected it to be. I tried their calamari which was one of the best I had in recent times. Their garlic bread was good too but their Bruschetta and the chicken cacciatore dish could have been better. I definitely think the house specialties were better than the regular pasta dishes

Tastes like moms cooking…but not grandma’s cooking.
Good sized portions. Creamy Italian dressing was very good! Garlic bread was just ok. Booths are nice; for people who are smaller. Big folks must sit at tables for sure.
Service was pretty good; family run business atmosphere. Dishes removed promptly, water remained full.
Prices were appropriate.

The BEST pizza around. Is it the dough, sauce, or cheese? I haven’t a clue, if you want a pie, look no further.

The pasta is ALWAYS hot and tasty.
Prepare to bring home leftovers, because the portions are too much for an average person.

The service is outstanding!!!!!!!

It is always a treat to go to Papa’s.

Great Food, Great Service, you cannot go wrong.

I am going to cut this short, I just made myself HUNGRY!!!!!
