Living overseas I’ve missed good Mexican food. I was very pleased with the Super Burrito that I ordered. Everything was pretty delicious, from the rice to the beans to the grilled chicken. The only thing that I wasn’t too crazy about was the salsa that was included inside, it didn’t really have a taste to me. Plus, the whole burrito became a little too wet and mushy. I appreciated the fork, but I don’t want to eat a burrito with a fork–it’s like eating sushi with a spoon.
Service was wonderful. The guys working there are really nice, patient, and helpful. If I visit CA again, and find myself in Monterey, I’ll definitely pay a visit.

We came here after two other restaurants were closed and we are so glad we did. We only got a couple of small things, but their service was excellent and from what I tried of the quesadillas and the Chips and salsa was super good! Obviously i had to get a Jarritos to top it off, but great restaurant!

Stopped by for lunch here with my lady and the food was very delicious. The staff are all very friendly and kind. They have a chip and salsa bar which is a plus because you get to choose how much you want to eat and the chips are freshly cooked. If you’re in the area, this place is a definite must to stop in and grab a bite to eat. We’ll definitely be back here in the future. Thank you Papa Chano’s.

Ate breakfast here and loved it. Homemade tortillas were so good. We split a breakfast burrito and wanted corn and flour tortillas which he so kindly supplied. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and delicious. Free chips and salsa. Staff was amazing. Highly recommend!

Best authentic Mexican food on Alvarado. Definitely recommend the tacos. Tacos are a decent sized portion as well so two is all you need. Eating here can be super affordable.

Absolutely one of the best Mexican restaurants in Monterey. Ordered the chile relleno burrito – it was amazing!
The staff was really nice and accommodating.
The menu has a ton of choices- wanted to order it all to try.
And they sell bottles of beer that you can pop open and drink while you wait.

Ordered and ate in. Food came and was hot but not much flavor. Pretty sure we got food poisoning for the past two days from here as we ate late then woke up feeling it and that was the only thing we had eaten that previous day for over 12 hours. Seems to need some help.

Pretty solid Mexican food. The shrimp quesadilla was the best and I rate it a 5/5. The shrimp tacos were good as well, perhaps a 4/5. The fish taco was really fresh and a 4/5. A shrimp quesadilla, two fish tacos and two shrimp tacos costs 37 with tip. Good price to value ratio!

Every time I order a burrito it’s mostly lettuce. What’s the point of $16 burrito if it’s mostly lettuce. If you’re ok eating a salad wrapped in a tortilla then it’s decent.
